Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 problem
hi there fellow gamers!
I've been playing RCT2 for some time now and I really love this game... My problem is that I can't seem to put a roof on top of the walls I'm making. I can't put walls on top of one another so I can create stuff like this house: http://rctfi.tycoonplanet.com/rct2-kuva04.jpg It would be nice to know how to make them so my guests have some where to go when it's raining  I can't get those signs (like this little red/yellow one here) on the walls of my rides either. I can only put them on the ground which looks stupid :( help?!? |
put the cursor on the gridmark on the ground that's directly under where you want the roof/sign. Hold the shift key and move the mouse up.
|
It's working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! thank you Shakran :icare: |
but.... I still can't get those damn signs up on my walls :hmm:
|
it's the same technique, but the interface makes it tricky. Instead of choosing a grid square, you have to choose the exact grid LINE that's under where you want the sign, then hold the shift key and move the mouse up. Keep messing with it and you'll get it - it usually takes awhile before you get the hang of it.

God I love this game. Im gonna break it out again tonight.

I got the hang on creating roofs btw, now I just need to get the hang on this thing too... |
HOLY CRAP!!
I just came up with the perfect Roller Coaster. It's lauched at max speed of 62 with a series of boosters to take up to 67mph. up a steep hill where is just barley makes it. then curves back down a photoshot. then over a bunny hill. then into the station. the whole ride takes 21 secs. but the numbers where fantastic Excitment 6.87 (High) Intensity 5.67 (High) Nausa 2.47 (Low) I can't keep the people off this ride. I built two of them and charged $5 a pop to ride. top it off the the photo pics and such a short ride time and I saved my park. I call it "The Last Ditch" because it was a last ditch effort to save my park. |

My best ever was one with an excitement of 9, intensity of 6, and nausea of 2.73. It was a HUGE steel corkscrew that was themed to hell and back. I remember it even helixed around a colliseum, then went out, half looped, barrelrolled, then plunged down through the center of the same colliseum. Man, I think I might have to reinstall that game now ;) |
Sadly, I can't do any of that. I only have RCT1 for the X-Box. I traied it on the computer. I hated the controls. so I'm sticking with the good ole X-Box.
True. you may get the same numbers on the shuttle loop. but few people will pay to get on it. and they lose interest in the rade after about 4 months. The Last Ditch has a pop of 96% that is lasting for years. and people shelled out some serious cash to ride it. |
omg, I want to play now.. maybe ill just break the game out tonight and make some sweet rollercoasters. I uploaded some to the site years ago, I wonder if they are still there hehe

You charge per ride? Man, I never do unless the scenario forces me to. Charge an entrance fee. Then all the good rides are popular even if people wouldn't ordinarilly pay to get on them. And they count toward the measurement of how good your park is ;) |
You're not evil until you're charging $1.00 for the restrooms.

I've found vandalism is insane when you charge for restrooms. I figure the cost of running the restrooms is offset by the savings of not having to hire security guards. I generally get maybe one angry guy every 30 minutes of play. And then you just grab the angry guy, drop him on a 3 square path with a bench that's in the middle of nowhere (aka jail) and wait for him to calm down.
