Been playing Emulator
I been playing Zelda for SNES on my comp. I also been playing Final Fantasy 2. (I think its 2, I'm not sure if its titled wrong, Cecil is the main character. No spoilers please if you know what I'm talking about)
I been playing Super Punch out too. And I just beat Chrono Trigger (for like the 1 millionth time, I love that game.) Just wondering if anyone else plays SNES roms or NES roms. What ya playin? I personally think that the games I'm playing on the Emu are just as good as 98% of all the games still coming out today for all the next next next gen systems from SNES. (PS, I own all 4 of those games but I don't have a SNES anymore since it died. So I'm legal bitches! :P hehe ) |
Psst! Talkin about this is taboo
|
Rules say not to ask for it... doesnt say you can't talk about it. Unless I missed something.
I'll check them again though to make sure. (Edit)(DO NOT ask for warez. If you are coming here looking for any warez, ROMs, or serial numbers for any software, you're in the wrong place. Any thread asking about warez will be deleted and you will be warned.) Unless the "Any thread asking about warez will be deleted and you will be warned" means that you can't talk about it at all I think its in the clear to talk about. If not please delete this thread. |
me thinky your thread will be deleted roms arent really legal yah know
|
rom are completely legal yah know~
read up about them you'll see. |
I don't want to listen to people complaining about the legality or whether this post is legal... I have seen 2 mods and an admin on so far and I posted this like 3 hours ago.
If it isnt sposed to be here they woulda got it by now. I'm not asking you where to get the roms. No more posts about it pls? lets stick to subject. |
I have a buncha games called Picross, they are puzzle games that are really damn fun, you have to draw pictures in a grid, one block at a time, given the number of blocks in each row/column.

I have played/beaten just about every (good/descent) RPG for the SNES ever created because of Emulators. I'm a huge fan of them, in particular because; they allow the translated versions of many good Japanese RPGs to be played.
/just for fun, anyone out their want to try and name a SNES RPG (true rpg, not action/rpg) I haven't played, think really obscure fo starters. |
Uhm.... Paladin's Quest? That's about the most obscure I can think of =D
|
I want to get back into Zelda (the two from NES).. and I've been Ebaying for that "special disc" that has Zelda, Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask.. that'd be awesome to have. No luck yet.
I also enjoy the occasional TMNT2 for NES. |
All the Mega Man games, Bionic Commando, Battletoads, Earthworm Jim, and Super Mario World get their fair share of playing from me.

Geek trivia for the day: They made a sequal for Paladin's Quest on the super famicom (japanese SNES) but no group has done a translation. The graphics seem a lot better in Paladin's Quest 2. |
Breath of Fire 1,2, Dragon Warrior 1-3, Harvest Moon

Ok, well I dont want to argue, but I am wondering how you figure this. If you have mame there are something like 4 legal roms that the developers released, but those are for arcades, it isnt even legal to get the roms for a pcb you own. I assume snes wouldnt be much different then an arcade game |
it is different, since you are able to make one archival copy of any game you own, and since the original poster stated that he owned all 4 games, then the roms are legit, although the companies discourage it generally.
|
You can talk about roms and emu's all you want. Just don't tell us where to get the roms. Thanks!
|
If it wasn't for a Emulator, i wouldn't be able to enjoy the origonal Oregon Trail today. I'm on some crazy Oregon Trail kick of late.

Megaman (both X and not), Zelda, FF, Mario, Crystalis... the list goes on.
As for the legality Look for the numbered list, at number 3. |

The evolving aspect of EVO was cool but it was a bit too action RPG for me. |
EVO is an awesome game ;) i only rented the game twice, but both times it was much fun had by all :) I loved seeing what you could make your creature look like next.
i cannot remember if i beat it or just got to the last guy.. but i do remember that bee guy.. he took me forever, but i didnt have save state abuse ability ;) its too bad you couldn't get past that, the next world, if i remember correctly are mammals ;) You could become a goat!! *grin* however, i do have to echo the statement of it being more of an action game than anything.. a fun action game though! |
Fantasy Start 4 for Genesis is such a sweet game, probably the best 16 bit RPG I know - yes I like it better then Chrono.

I remember beating that game with the male android (wren) as the only person alive for 3/4ths of the battle. That android could take a licking and keep on healing. |

Final Fantasy 2 (or 4 in Japan) is by far the best game ever made for the SNES. I just decided to play it again last week. Roms are great because it's easier to download the game than to dig out the box in the attic with all my games in it.
|
I love the old school Nintendo Games! As of late I just beat original Zelda, love to kick tyson's ass 007-373-5963 heheh, tecmo super bowl, when bo's in excellent condition I intentionally run kickoffs to my own 5 yard line just to get him stats, blades of steel and some other random games. hah good stuff!
|
I beat EVO no problem, and also found a buncha the hidden characters you could evolve into, I was never able to evolve into a human though, and it still frustrates me to this day because that's how you were supposed to be able to see the real ending :)
|
Final Fantasy 3(6) is the best, followed by FF 2. Man, those games are great. Another great one missing is Act Raiser I. Also, UN Squadron is a lot of fun. Quick question for you emu geeks: Are there any games similar to UN squadron for the SNES? You know, the ones where you blow stuff up and collect power-ups and whatnot.
|
Is UN Squadron like one of those scrolling shooters? There's R-Type. (I knew a couple more, but...)
|
does anyone else get horribly shite sound on zsnes?
|

|

I have every snes game ever made on my computer. I am not exaggerating, I have 9.5 gigabytes of pure happiness.
|
Quote:
About 650 snes games were made, or so most websites say. Lets say that with saves and the original rom each one is 5 MB in size. 650 X 5 / 1000 = 3.25 GB 9.5 GB > 3.25 GB Where are the extra 6.25 GBs coming from? I could see that with a good number of savestates for each game it might be an extra gig or two, but six ? /I spent at least twenty minutes trying to decide if the subject-verb agreement was correct in "Where are the extra 6.25 GBs coming from?" . Gigabytes is plural, but I am talking about them both individually and collectively as a number. I tried Google but could not find any assistance on subject-verb agreement and storage space notation. Anyone know the answer ? |
[grammar]
Your subject/verb agreement is fine. "Gigabytes" is the subject, and "are" is the verb. Just to nitpick, though, you really shouldn't end a sentance with a preposition. "From where are the extra 6.25 GBs coming?" is the grammatical ideal. [/grammar] |
never heard of it
|
I am using dosbox a DOS emulator. As soon as i get ahold of an arj program i'm going to open up Quarentine, the best game of all time.
