Old School Games
The "First Computer" thread in the Computers Forum caused me to reminisce about the games of my childhood. A quick Google search for "Commander Keen" led me to 3D Realms, which hosts a whole bunch of old shareware and freeware games. I felt that I was obliged to share it with TFP for those who haven't seen it.

sweet thanks for the link. I used to play a game called "M.U.L.E." on my commador 64 back in the day... has anyone found a windows version of this game? I would love to play that again.

Jesus, Commander Keen is fucking classic. I used to play it on my p120. Does anyone remember the game Terminal Velocity. It was sort of like another old game, Descent. Most of what I remember about those games is that the graphics were super grainy and they both ran like crap on my machine. Man, if I could play those games again on my current system. Shit. If I didn't get at least 300-400 fps on my system for those games, I'd throw my fuckin' computer out the window. Ah, the classics.
Holy shit. Terminal Velocity is on there? Whoa, definitely gonna have to download that. EDIT: Wow. Terminal Velocity is STILL just as fuckin' grainy as I remember. Incredible. |
Ohh shit! Thanks, this is awesome. There are so many classic side scrollers there. I'm getting Shadow warrior and Rise of the triad right now.
"WHO WANTSA SOME WANG!!!!" That game had some of the best lines ever spoken by its hero. |

|
I love Archon, but I am soo bad at it :)
|
Racing Destruction Set was ahead of its time. You could do anything with that game.
|
I loved the Kings Quest games. I can still remember the stack of 25 or so 5.25 floppies needed to play the game. Ahh.... back when you had to load the OS into Ram. Those were the days....
And we liked it. |

Awesome I just found an Apple IIe emulator and a copy of Oregon Trail. I'm assuming they're free, I don't think you can buy the game anymore, or IIe's for that matter.
Oh no! Darla's got Cholera. |
