UT 2004 Question????
 

Greetings All,
I guess you can chalk this question up to bitterness because I suck at this game but I have to ask how do you kill some of these people? I have never seen such aerobatics before and yet when these guys are jumping its like they all the sudden become a sniper whilst doing some sommersaults/cartwheel? I can stand there, pump lead into a guy and he just walks away. This hasn't happened just once but many, many times. How do I become one of these flying trapeze brothers/Delta Force gamer? (Is there cheating going on?) I would appreciate any helpful tips, suggestions, etc. Thanks

Killing them is easy, shoot a rocket at the spot they're going to land.

Yes, just jump a lot in different and unpredictable directions, Dodging (double-tapping a direction key) is also very useful to throw opponents and if you have quick reflexes, you can use it to dodge rockets, manta's and other (relatively) slow projectiles and vehicles.

Can someone please enlighten me as how to phase-shift out of the way? I see these players running and all of a sudden they are much further ahead and they leave this trail behind them. Does anyone know how to do this? Much appreciated. Thanks

That would be the translocator. You might want to check out your manual, it explains that particular item in detail.

Yep. Keep playing the game a ton, and you will be able to do the "freak kills." Everyone can do the "Freak kills" if they play UT long enough. It's when your arm basically has a spasm when you see someone and you shoot them in the head. Head shot reflex baby.

To teleport, take the translocator (remember, it has to be enabled on that server) and shoot the disc. Then right-click (or whatever your alt-fire is) and it will take you to where the disc is. You CANNOT carry flags with the translocator (i.e. haul ass with the translocator to the flag, then get the flag and teleport super fast back to your base). It leaves the flag behind.

The reason for all of these inane little questions is that I only have the demo and therefore I don't have access to a manual. But thanks for the info for everyone. It is much appreciated.

The manual is included in the demo, at least is was when I downloaded it. I've of course since deleted it since I got the full version.

Can you be invisible legally in the game? Or is that a cheat?

You can go invisible when you get 100 adrenaline, but you are still somewhat visible.

Just practice your dodges and jump combos to avoid fire and improve your aim.
Even still though.. I manage to shoot people 4 times with rockets, half my load of minigun ammo, and still they manage to kill me when I have 200 health and a super armor thing on.

Practice..not find a weapon you're good with and stick too it..FLAK MONKEY!
