I am always doing this.
"Man, this (insert place) would make a kick ass (insert game) level."

I'm not sure this counts, but I was walking in a parking lot and over heard two kids :
"Dude, IK belt is not worth an SOJ!"
and I knew what they were talking about...:(

For me it happened with THPS2. I played that game obsessively my senior year of college and would walk around campus looking at rails and gaps.

God, my entire dorm would make for a great level of Silent Hill. Jesus. It's haunted and nothing works, and you can NEVER get 85% of the doors to open.

long time ago, i played geoff crammond's grand prix obsessively. by the time the real formula one carnival had reached adelaide, i had played it so much i could recognise the grandstands from the game, and could predict the turns coming up on the in car camera. very weird.

Which game is THPS2?

My VC thing is that I want to be able to ram into every car on the road to move them out of the way.

I also played Hitman 2 for a long time one day. I was trying to only use fiber wires to kill people. Later that night, I went to a bar to pick up some food and I felt like I should be sneaking in and FWing people.

Does that make me a sick person?

I would do the same thing as Kadath, I'd see handrails and curbs, and all I'd think about is things I could trick off of.

I also occasionally see places and think "If I were a fighting game character, this'd be my level"

I suffer from both Tony Hawk and Vice City sindromes. I really worry when I'm driving down the road and look over and this first thought to roll out my head is that I can drag the person out and just take off. Its also really bad when I go pick up hookers to restore my life meter and beat them down with a baseball bat to get my money back. Wait, did that really happen? The lines between fantasy and reality are slowly fading away...

After an extended playing session of FFX,I saw a picture of a mountain path and thought "Thats alot of random encounters."

I had a dream awhile ago that my wife was leaving me because she couldn't take me being deeply into organized crime. Woke up and realized I was dreaming about GTA4 :P I think I need a 12-step program.

When I used tragectory of stationary turrets in Battlefield 1942(midway level) to explain projectile motion in physics class.

when you seriously consider ramming the motorbike in front of you just for fun, so that you can see the blood in your tyre tread marks as you speed away.

When ever im at work i always just think how much better it would be if it were a game

When you contemplate how many running punches it would take to reduce someone to a pile of good, Marathon style. Oh, and you scream "FROGBLAST THE VENT CORE!" while doing it. Then explode in their face.

When you cross the road and think you're a frog.

When you beat some one to death and wonder why they don’t re-spawn.

Then exclaim your disappointment with "Shazbot!"

You stand on your roof top and wonder "I think I can jump from house to house"

You find places that would make a good place to camp and break out a sniper rifle.

You see crates and you want to bust them open with a crowbar.

You drive down a highway and see a sign "Campers ahead" and wish you had a grenade.

You wish you could strafe jump.

You see opertunities to use a rocket launcher in everyday life.

I've actually done some of these :D

Or when your sims have a better social life than you do.

...you have an FF7 ring tone.

...you own and wear a t-shirt for a mod that's no one plays.

....you drive 100 miles to go to a LAN party with your online gaming buddies.

...you hear random sound effects from games throughout the day or when you're trying to go to sleep. Worst time this ever happened to me was when I played X-COM:UFO Defense non stop for several days. I kept hearing the door opening sound and the alien growls. Even when I was just listening to music I could swear I heard sound effects in the music too.

...you hear a sound effect in a movie and think "Hey they stole that from <insert game>!"

...you post in a thread entitled "You know you spend to much time playing games when…" /obligatory

...you see someone who doesn't know what they're doing and think "What a newb."

...you listen to rap songs about your favorite mod.

...the letters on your W, A, S and D keys are faded.

...you dress up as a video game character for Halloween.

...you can't fall asleep because you're too busy thinking of strategies and tactics.


I've done all of these, sad to say.

Sounds familiar....but for me it was EA's line of F1 games....though it started with PSX's F1 '97 championship season.

Ha ha, I do that too. I say "Roger that" and "pwned" in real life. Pretty awesome! I also go around thinking of how cool my college campus would be for a Desert Combat level, and how cool it would be to have a M60 after playing BF Vietnam.

The worst is the damn dreams though. I have dreams about videogames more often than not. Mostly about MMORPG's and Desert Combat/Battlefield Vietnam.

Speaking of gta, that gta reenactment on chappelle's show was funny as hell.

Sometimes all i can see when i close my eyes is gtavc or socom or any game i'm currently playing. What's scary to me, though, is after a round of studying algebra or trig i'll start thinking of people in terms of ordered pairs or sine waves.

Laying in bed, wide awake at night and developing tactics used to be a big one too.

Lasereth lost his keys one time and asked me to look in that "pile of gold" (a pile of loose change) for them. True story! Too much MMORPGs for him! (Realm)

When you immediately assume that security gaurds are all the same and will follow you to their death if you ask nicely

When you scream "LAG!" if you missed anything

When you feel a surge of anger and hatred everytime you see someone playing solidare. (or some other lame card game)

Got to stop staring at my roommate's monetory before I KO him.

When you close your eyes you see Cloaked Infiltrators (Planetside) everywhere. (like g-damn phanotoms!)

When you jump you hear *Sproong* sounds from Super Mario Brothers

I used to play Mario World when I was in Jr High so much, that when I stopped I could imagine mario running around on the flat places that silhouetted the walls and I could tell you if it was long enough to get mario up to enough speed to fly...

And Starcraft...don't get me started... I would wake up from a dead sleep, as if from a nightmare and think of new uses for the science vessel...

Now I can here the China infantry from C&C generals dying in my head when I am spacing out... it's kinda like soft squishy sound.

I used to have dreams about TFC fairly often during the height of my playing (H2K). Thank god I grew out of that shit -- I dream about normal stuff now, like flying over the Saharra desert on Frank Sanatra's back.
