This game does look great, but I'm gonna be supremely pissed if it's not as good as Gran Turismo 3 and especially 2.
I don't know about everyone else, but I enjoyed buying a shitcan Mazda and suping it up in GT2 with racing mods until I could hold my own against a Dodge Viper. In GT3, you couldn't do racing modifications to shitcan cars, and it seems that early on in the game you were handed super-cars that don't have the "sleeper" feel to them. I understand that in GT3 they ran out of time. Polyphony Digital had to rush the game out because it was already 6 months behind; this resulted in there not being a futher-back third person mode and no racing modications + a limited supply of cars in the game. My point? GT4 has been in development for a really fucking long time. They BETTER include racing modifications in this game or I'm gonna be pissed. I hate being handed a NSX Type S-O or Dodge Viper early in the game. Those cars simply aren't as fun to drive as a sleeper car that you built from the ground up. I'm not sure I'll enjoy GT4 as much as the first three unless they bring this type of gameplay back. PD has plenty of time for this game, so I do have a small amount of home for this! -Lasereth

I think you'll be able to tweak some of the beaters, but you'll probably have to make yourself stick with them. You're probably in the minority in that most players will be impatient to get their hands on the good shit.
Messed around with the photo mode at e3...eh, it's a cool idea, but I wouldn't spend more than 10 minutes with it myself, seeing as how I could be racing. The Nurburgring is looking awesome, btw. |
