KOTOR Question
I just beat the game on the dark side and im contemplating doing it again but going light this time. (mabye in a month or so).
Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knew if knight speed stacked with other feats? (such as flurry). That way, you could do like 9 hits or somehting for every attack.... |
I highly, highly suggest you play it again on the light side. The developers said that 50% of the game's quests are avaiable to the light side, 30% to both, and 20% to the dark side. Basically, the game is much much larger if you play as the light side.
I can't answer your question because I'm not a D&D fanatic. I can't remember what the Knight Speed ability did...does it simply increase your attack rate? -Lasereth |
Re: KOTOR Question
I'm not sure, honestly, but I don't think so. Master Speed says it adds +2 extra attacks per round. I'm not sure about Flurry, but if I remember right it only adds one extra attack. They might stack, but if they do, then the decreased to-hit from Flurry would make such a combo useful for only lower-difficulty enemies.
I never used flurry on my light side character. I did abuse the heck out of Master Speed though. With a level 3 Master Jump feat and level 3 Master Speed, if there was an enemy in my jumping range, he was dead before he knew what hit him. I don't remember exactly, but the Jump feat gives you some nice bonuses, and with dual sabers+Master Speed, that's 4 hits with very very good (almost guaranteed) chance of hitting along with increased damage potential. I was regularly doing anywhere from 80-100 damage to an enemy in one round often before they even noticed me. Plus, after your 4 power hits, Master Speed will still give you 4 attacks for the next few rounds, so all but the toughest enemies in the game should fall before they get more than a couple hits on you. I lost count of how many times I would spot a group of enemies, Speed/Jump them, and have almost all of them slaughtered before my teammates even got in attack range. |
The "Light Side" is fun to role-play. It takes longer, but it's really a blast. I played KOTOR practically every day during Christmas Break. Come to think of it, that's pretty much all I did. All day. It's really a blur. :|

When I played the darkside I often foudn my self playing the anti-meatbag robot more then my main character. :)
As for your question, I dont know, but I'd love to get a answer my self. I'm willing to give KOTOR another go seeing as spring break starts tomarrow and I have no money to go anywhere but here. :/ |
Canderous was my best npc. Get that uber-blaster from that space station planet, with all the upgrades. Then get master rapid shot. Then get him the best armor you can buy. He's insane.

Screw the light side! You get no cool powers!!

I played my lightside as the melee-heavy, force-light class (Guardian, I think?). I made him a self-healing, force absorbing, rapid-combat machine. Basically used the force powers as a sort of deflector shield and continual medpack while going heavy on combat stats and abilities (from the base Soldier class). And, was was previously mentioned, there's a lot more content to the light side. Dark side play is basically to screw the quest-givers out of 50 credits or whatever and take off, where the light side actually does the quests. |
Yeah, playing as light side makes the game way more interesting and challenging. Having to complete a boatlode of quests for characters can be hard and time-consuming, but it turns out to be quite fun.

Take knight speed, the stat bonuses, resistance to force powers.. My light side > dark side :/ |
I just finished it on the light, is everyone thinking I should do it again on the dark, how long (HR's) did it take to finish the dark side?
|
i always planned to do it as both. only got part way through dark side before i had to reformat... haven't tried again yet.
i liked my character's portrait as the dark side guy... evil bastard. lol @ Lasereth - 'take names'. you witty, witty man. |
I just finished it on the Light side with a Consular. I wanted a Sentinel, but there's a glitch - when you're at the Jedi academy, the computer tells you the proper roles of Consular and Sentinel, but when you talk to the Master Jedi to choose your crystal, the roles are switched! I was confused, but it all turned out alright in the end. Malak was so much easier than I expected.
I just started a Dark side character...should be interesting, but it's so...arduous, going back and sitting through all the dialogue again, re-doing all the quests. Maybe I should take a few months off before I do this Dark character... |

Blasters just suck. Using them to fight jedis is like playing racquetball.
|
Yep just completed playing on the light side. Great game, but I'll have to leave it a few months before paying again. Not sure I could stand going through all the dialogue again. I'll try dark side so hopefully you will not have to spend so much time doing all the different quests. Great game, and I will buy the next one they produce.

This game REALLY needs a Multiplayer option!
That would kick ass! Hardcore.. um..dude. |
god i loved this game :)
spent more than 1 week non-stop playing it through first as a light side character started playing dark side but comp crashed and lost my save game :( a kickarse build is the scoundrel/guardian 7/13 route you want a lvl 7 scoundrel so you get all the sneak attacks, then guardian's force jump sneak attack is applied everytime you force jump ;) or if their stunned, so get some force power like statis field or socket your sabers with 'bondar' i think it was.. the stun crystal and go nuts :D |
