At 2PM (PST) today, a single-player demo of Painkiller is supposed to be released.

Just from looking at a few screenshots, it's reminding me of one of my favorite games... Kingpin.

Looks really cool. I'm getting the High-res trailer right now. I'll definitely check out the demo. Thanks for the heads up.

Now that I've seen the trailer it doesn't remind me anything of Kingpin. It still looks really good though.

Holy crap. The server is giving me a "500 Internal Server Error". Looks like this was a pretty anticipated game.

Reminds me a lot of Serious Sam... I love that game.
These type of games are always a good break from everything else.
Just go crazy and kill everything :cool:

Fucking awesome, has everyone checked out the UT 2004 demo too, looks like I have to start savin up!

The UT2K4 demo is probably the funnest demo I've played in a while. The physics of the vehicles is great. The graphics are up to the usual grand that I've come to expect of the franchise. It also feels way faster than ut2k3.

I had no idea what to expect of that one, and I'm happy to say that I was very impressed. I ended up getting x'd by the shaman types, but I only gave up since I am about to install the UT2k4 demo that people are raving about.

Great game, I'll probably have to grab the full version, impressive, coming from Dreamcatcher.

Awesome graphics, great sound, solid engine, boring gameplay!!! Sure it was fun for the first twenty minutes or so but honestly, how can anyone play an FPS where you kill all the bad-guys in one room so the next rooms door opens up where you have to kill all the bad guys in that room for another room to open up... boring.

The mood of the game is very reminecent of Witchhaven, Hexen and to a certain extent, Doom, which is neat 'cause it ties with it's tagline "Old School FPS Action".

Hopefully the demo is just a tiny tiny bit of the game, hope the full thing has a lot more to offer.

Just downloaded and played though most of the first level of the game. Man, this game was boring. The enemy AI (or lack thereof) was horrible. All they did was throw things and walk slooooowwwwwllllllyyyy towards you. At least they could have something jump out at you or something. I only saw a few types of enemies and since the game was so dark, they all looked the same to me. The only weapon I could use was this slow-loading stake shooter thing that was lame. The graphics and physics were nice I guess, but the game leaves a lot to be desired.

Yawn at this game. Looks neat, but is boring like others have previously mentioned. I guess they were focused more on graphics then gameplay, like the majority of new games on the market...

true, but its a good test, it looks sort of what I imagine Doom3 will look like, so its good to see how well my comp can handle the details of these sorts of games. So im happy with that aspect

Actually, I liked the Painkiller demo a lot. What can I say, mindless killing is nice sometimes. lol.

I agree with Wyodiver33,
its a good break from all the other games, even if it is mindless.

And considering this is coming from the company that made the terrible game GORE, its a step up.
And the Havok physics just makes it even more fun :)

Ok I must admit the demo was limited, but ok it was a demo. But cmon the stake thrower while slow was sweet! Could of sat there all night just trying to get the monsters close enough to the wall to "stake" them their, ok ok maybe I am just sick cause I also enjoyed hitting the hanging bodies and watching them swing! :)
