Hitman 2 or Splinter Cell?
Which one should I get?
|
Hitman 2 has unreal graphics/detail. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Never played the other one, but I recommend Hitman 2
|
I agree. While tehy are both excellent games, while maybe the Splinter cell had a better story overall, Hitman 2 has some extremely creative levels, missions, and events, and had some humerous tones to it. the variety of missions easily trumped Splinter Cell.
(my fave was dressing up as the doctor to get into the hospital and gettig mistaken as a surgeon.) |
Never played Splinter Cell but Hitman 2 is great.
|
Splinter Cell on xbox is beautiful. It's like playing metal gear solid with a decent storyline. It's kinda scary too in a way, it's mirroring recent events in the real world.
|
I have been playing Hitman 2 since it came out. It's still installed on my computer and just yesterday I fired up another round of the Athema mission (love that mission whenever I feel the need to kill me some mafioso). I never played Splinter Cell, only the demo, but it looks good. My friend has the XBOX version and he's to lazy to finish the last levels. Says their very hard.
I just prefer the business suit and hardballers. |
Splinter Cell!
i got both on the PS2. H2 is really good but waiting 2-20 minutes without making a sound only to fuck up gets...... irritating. i perfer espianauge (sp) games above all others (disincluding my precious rpgs) and i love to wait for the right moment.... but not four five to twenty minutes. however the gameplay iss soooooo none-linear.... SC is cool and _fun_. the sneaking can get your adrenaline pumping them , before you get bored, it's time to work. :) I LOVE it. however, SC graphics suck and the story blows...... but DAMN it's fun. |
Hitman 2 didn't seem to hold my attention as well as Splinter Cell.
Hitman 2 was fun, but there something about sneaking up on unsuspecting guards and knocking them out.... Not that you can't do that in Hitman 2, but in Splinter Cell you get that creepy Sam Fisher voice. |
Personally Splinter Cell wins that question for me, however if stealth is not your favourite thing to do then go for Hitman 2 as you can go blazin' too.
The graphics do not compare to Splinter Cell, Hitman 2 is cartoony, Cell is super real. Which system are you planning to buy for? If it's for the PC then Splinter Cell may not work for you, quite a few bugs which I was lucky to avoid, two patches have been released so far with another expected soon. Hitman 2 is EXTREMELY stable. |
Im looking for Pc, dont got a console for a few weeks (PS2 on the way)
|
I vote for Splinter Cell.
Personally I didn't like the graphics or the gameplay of Hitman 2. Although I never made it passed the training level :/. Splinter Cell was much more my style. The lighting effects and Sams Animations were cool.. although they guards aren't very good at noticing silhouettes :) |
Played both on xbox and have to vote for splinter cell. Not that hitman 2 wasn't fun and challenging but it didn't keep me glued infront of the screen..
|
I myself was always a fan of Hitman 2. The original had more trips for failure, where in Hitman 2 there were (by design) at least 3 ways to achieve a mission. The third (or fourth) was brute force, which was always an option. Back from the days in the first Hitman (or the first No One Lives Forever, or even Thief) where being seen equals instant mission failure grew maddening after awhile. Granted, stealth was the point, but I was never fond of such rigid adherence to protocol.
And frankly, sometimes a Hitman walking into a room and hosing everyone down is more appealing on the visceral level. :) |
Tom Clancy's Splinter cell is amazing ! (with or without having read his books)
But it's waay to shot, really a shame :-( hope they make an add-on or something, that game totally rocks (I never played hitman2, only played hitman 1 and didn't like it that much) |
Hitman 2, for me. Splinter cell was way to complicated for an idiot like myself. I like it when I can just pump shotgun rounds into unarmed civilians.
|
Depends on your hardware.
If you have a particularly fast machine, Splinter Cell will be great (as will Hitman 2, of course). If not, then Splinter Cell will aggrivate you to no end. I bought, played, and enjoyed both. Hitman 2 has slightly more replay, because you can redo all the missions in any number of approaches (gunfight, stealth, etc...), while Splinter Cell is MUCH MUCH more linear (as in the definition of a linear game). |
Not a fan of Hitman 2 havent really played it properly..But I hear Splinter Cell is really good
|
Hitman 2 was slow boring and difficult for me.
Splinter Cell on the other hand did everything right, it had beautiful graphics, brilliant lighting effects (every lightsource casts a shadow and can be destroyed) and some very tricky A.I. I'd take Splinter Cell over Hitman 2 any day. |
Hitman 2 control question
I can't access the "items" menu in Hitman 2. When I use the right mouse button to open my inventory, the mouse scroll wheel just scrolls through all the weapons, but never gets to the items like mini-bombs, etc. Unless I'm just missing it there doesn't seem to be any separate way to open up and select items. I got the CD as a freebie with a video card I bought, so I don't have a paper manual.

i am unsure, i've never played it on the PC,
but try this: www.gamefaqs.com check the FAQs on hitman 2, then if you don't see the answer your desire try the message board. if you still have no luck then create an account and then post a new thread.:) |
Splinter cell is great. Never tried Hitman 2 though so really can't say.
|
Personally, I think Splinter Cell blows Hitman 2 away in the graphics and gameplay department. Splinter Cell also has an awesome atmosphere which makes it very fun to play. It is a great game...probably the best stealth game out there. Hitman 2 is a pretty good game, though.
I'd pick Splinter Cell. |
i just got back into playing hitman 2 and its pretty awesome. I've never played splinter cell though so i cant really compare them
|
Hitman 2 is the shit. Great game without any other games that have a similar plot-line.
