I was recently thinking about this genre-defining MMORPG. Did anyone play this PC MMORPG back in the day? Me and my brother were obsessed with it. Best part, it was like 6 dollars a month. I loved it. It's graphics weren't very good at all, but the weapon system and magic system were the best I've seen in a MMORPG yet...

Anyone have any news about it, the current status of the game? How about the economy in the game? Same gameplay?

More importantly, did anyone play it as much as EQ :D

nah, it won't. you have to play the game to learn what information I want! Like how much the weapons cost, how easy it is to find them, etc. How hard the monsters are now. Any newer ones. stuff like that.

some sites give info on things like that, but a lot of the times the info is a stark contrast to the real gameplay :)

But I played it, it was so much fun! I was a thief, and i remember stealing this dude's gold and running away from him for like an hour... he wanted his gold back!!!

but yeah, sierra ditched it a while ago

that's crazy. I had so much fun with that game....

Heh, yeah, my cousin introduced me to the Realm like 7 or 8 years ago. That was a fun game back in the day. I was pimpin with my 4x Wrath and glowies :)

I was the best 180 SDM wizard ever :) I 5xed a couple of wraths and an executioner also.......(not without blowing some up)

I played for a month or so,last year.

The economy is pretty much at the point where people will hand you a full set of equipment..because they love newbies there.


Sucked being pk'd by the level 500 wiz at level 103 though.

I beta tested the game before it came out big time. I liked the engine, but unfortunately, they hadn't added monsters to the world yet so it got boring fairly quickly. Never did get to play the full version of the game.

Yeah, I was a 180 SDM wiz also. I wanted to be one the first time I saw someone in a shop chanting for cash. I thought that was so cool having a line of people waiting for you to perform services.

Do you remember the little rituals people would do before chanting because we thought it would increase the chances of a success? Hehe, I had something I would do that consisted of summoning some bread and water (can't remember the order) then eating and drinking.

Man, that game had it's moments. I was playing that until EQ came out, then I got addicted to that for a couple of years. Hopefully WoW is next!
