Fallout Brotherhood of Steel
 

I just got an email from Interplay telling me that Fallout -Brotherhood of Steel would be out January 13th. Did I miss something? I thought I was just reading in this forum that Fallout 3 was dead. Anybody got the scoop?

This ones PS2/X-Box only, and is based on the BG: Dark Alliance engine.

It's more of a D2 hack'n'slash action game, with some RPG elements then a full RPG like Fallout 1 & 2 are.

I don't think there are any plans to make a PC version of it, and probably never will.

Even though I'm a fan of the Fallout series, I doubt even if I had an X-Box or PS2 that I would get it.

Ahhh now I had my hopes all built up. Thanks for letting me know.

I do hope that a fallout 3 is in the making. It could stand to be the next Evercrack.

Fallout Brotherhood of Steel has been out for the PC for a long time.. at least in Canada..

Its amazing. Its Fallout, but with controlling a team of guys.. think, having a close combat guy, a couple of snipers, a dedicated medic.. and a deathclaw..

I've beaten it several times, (there are several endings) and its never gotten boring

To call it fallout is a lie, its just a Strategy/style genre.

Nothing like what fallout is known for, or should be known for :(

fallout 3 isn't BOS .

it's kind of like how Final Fantasy Tactics wasn't FFVIII.

I was under the impression that Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel for PC and Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for PS2/X-Box
were completely different aside from both not being real RPGs like Fallout 1 & 2 are.

If not then I guess I was wrong about it not being on PC :eek:

Um FOT isn't an RTS. It's psuedo turn based strategy.

All I was aiming for was that its been out for a while, and its a dagger to the back to the series. ;)

It's getting below average reviews so far. Sounds like it's a thrown together game using the Baulders Gate DA engine with the characters and the background changed around to look like Fallout. It was on my "must have" list but has dropped off the list since reading the reviews.

Yeah, FBOS is kinda like the old team games with you getting to specialize each team member. Not like Fallout, but OK in its own right.

The only review for this game that i've seen is 8/10. So it sounds like a rental to me. Where did you see your sub par reviews?

*ROARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* No, no no. You are thinking of Fallout tactics, the Jagged Alliance/Commandoes style game. Fallout:POS(BOS) is an awful console game that single handly raped the team working on Fallout 3, ie interplay yanked funding and members from FO3 to go towards FO:POS. I think it is important to remember that not only was FO3 raped because of this console trash but Black Isle Studios (BG1/2, Fallout1/2, Icewind Dale 1/2, and I think Torment and Neverwinter Nights) was dissolved and all its talent was fired. The director for Fallout POS is an absolute moron. It is quite apparant that the Fallout name was slapped on this sub-par BG: DA clone to link it to games which actually had style.

Why FO:Pos is awful in gigantic FAQ form, just incase you are wondering why I'm so very irate.

Iv been playing it, only about 1 hour in but so far its enjoyable. Screw reveiws, I nevered played BG dark alliance but this game seems well put together and fairly polished so far. I don't see why your complaining as it sounds like many people here haven't even PLAYED it for themselves yet.
