Deus Ex: Invisible War
I did a search for this and nothing really came up?
Have people forgotten about this game? For me, i've been looking forward to it, more than Doom 3 and Half life 2. Anyway, ign have received a "final build" and the game should (hopefully) be released on the 2nd of December (only 2 weeks away). Although i think it's good that people haven't really been hyping it too much, or it's be in Half life 2 and DOom 3's shadow, but i am really looking forward to it. The first game was incredible and this one will only have to be ahlf that game to be good. Good stuff. also here is the article ign did on it, wiht some breif info. The review should be out shortly though |

I've got the Xbox build and am playing it when I get the chance (can only play at my office, since my Debug Xbox stays there). So far I like it - not as much as the first, but that might be because I have a lot harder time controlling shooters on the Xbox than on the PC.
It's shaping up to be a fine game, though I wonder if it will have the surprise/delight factor of the original. That one was just so unique it will always stand out in my mind.

@WhoaitsZ
have you run other recent games with it? The main issue is your gfx card. It would probably need certain hardware acceleration (like transform and lighting). I am not entirely sure what features/accelration it has, sorry. I am not much of a hardware expert or anything, i have some knowledge, but i am mainly involved with software stuff. Sorry i can't be more specific. More details about the games specs should be released soon. |

A sneak Peek -
http://www.gamespy.com/previews/nove...nvisiblewarpc/ Spiffy Sense of immersion; cool storyline, freedom of choice. Iffy Character models and animation; some graphical jumpiness. The original Deus Ex was far more than a mere first-person shooter. It allowed players to really choose their destiny in a way that's rarely been duplicated. Regardless of the challenges the game threw at you, there were at least three ways to solve the problem -- usually involving lots of gunfire, stealth, or solving some knotty technical problem using the RPG-like skills system. It fully deserved every "Game of the Year" and "Fan Favorite" award it received. and more...

Duece Ex 2: Invisible War
Anyone played the demo, its downloading right now, but @ 200mb it'll take a good half hour =\
I've heard it's really taxing system wise, friend with a Radeon 9800 is getting choppy framerates at anything above 1024x768 Looking for input, maybe i'll buy the game. Thanks |

I have a fairly medium computer (Thunderbird 1.3, 768MB RAM, Geforece 4 Ti) and it runs a little choppy in 800x600. I'm not that impressed! The characters look nice and all, but the shadows are bad, and the physics engine is really crappy - things fall very unrealistically. I'm going to give it another spin - the demo seemed pretty short, but maybe I just overlooked something.
Anyone else? |

I've played the PC demo, and I'm not to i'mpressed by the graphics, or the gameplay. However, I am talking about the DEMO of the game. The game it self might shape up to be much better (I hope).

I doubt much will be changed, as it is due for release early next month.
But there is a thread on how to improve on a lot of things in the demo, the text size for example, which is hideously huge: http://www.ionstorm.com/forum/viewth...12110&id=34880 |

I played it and for me it was a serious dissappointment..I came in thinkin they couldn't anything to screw up Deux Ex 2 because..I mean look at the first one :/ Sadly I was mistaken, even on a fairly good and new computer it runs sluggish and the interface always gets in the way of things..hopefully they'll have these fixed before release

On the link I posted there's a description of how to alter the .ini files to move the interface more out to the sides. Looks to me like they shipped the demo with Xbox settings or something, I mean look at that huge text! (again)
I liked the gameplay and the shadows. The textures were WAY too low-res, but I hope that's just to limit the size of the demo (in which case I wonder why they included a Thief 3 video, but who knows) I don't like the fact that it takes 4 headshots to kill a guy. That's one of the things I liked most about the first, one headshot one kill. That's realistic, that's stealth. But the whole interface is pretty annoying. One grenade takes up the same space as a flamethrower? Come on. One type of ammo for all weapons? The pistol uses the same ammo as the flamethrower? WHY? Oh, and somehow the bar entrance guy can disable a police baton I found. With a code. But as I wrote there are lots of ways of tweaking stuff. Hopefully some real fans will sit down and make the game truly like the first one, I know it's possible to tweak locational damage, and it must just be a matter of time before somebody figures out the rest. I can't believe they released this, thinking we we going to like it. Maybe it's all just a joke. Yes, that's what is is. A joke. Ha ha. |

If the full game is like this demo, I'm going to be pretty disappointed. Deus Ex is still in my top-ten greatest games of all time, though I don't think DX2 is going to get anywhere near that.

I have the Dues Ex 2 demo but I haven't played it yet. Funny thing is I started playing the first one recently and I wasn't very impressed. Perfect Dark is so much better, but the story may improve the further you go. I got to the point where I was assigned in China.

It seems to me that they focused the game too much for X-Box, and in part, dumbed down the PC version.
That makes me sad The HUD and setup of the first one was so fun and excellent. I'm sure the game will have a good story and settings, but the gameplay doesn't look like it will live up to the first game's. |

Looks nice and the physics are cool but it was incredibly boring. I think CyN1caL is right, playing the game it felt like I was playing an X-Box title which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I'd much prefer to play an outstanding PC title.

I read that the deom is an injustice of the game. This game isn't really about the glitz and glamour so much, moreso the about the way the game changes around you and your decisions in the game vastly effect the storyline. This openendedness is my main attraction to the game and it's style. Hopefully performance issues can be dealt with though? i don't like the idea of low and choppy frames on mid-level machines?
Ign reviewed the game http://pc.ign.com/articles/442/442591p1.html and it looks quite good to me. Of course, it's hard to outdo the previous game, in it's own right deus will still be very good. Look forward to playing it very soon |

I've been reading demo reviews on the official boards, and from what I can gather, there are almost an infinite number of small, random things the NPC's can do.
One person shot a guard, and Sak (the woman) saw him go down from her window. Then she went outside, shot the other guard because she thought he did it, and then a guard came outside and shot her because she shot the other guard... that's great... |

Ive said it before , and Ill say it again
Deus Ex - DAMN fine PC game eventually ported to console Deus Ex2 - BLATANTLY made for console market from the start. The demo is Terrible imo. Try this.. Play the demo..then go back and play the original on pc... u can tell the difference and the first game is dated now. |

for my feeling .. DX2 was overhyped , as the first review shows its much shorter and the 3d shooting part is shitty too

First one was awesome and I still play the onine multiplayer to this day. Red Faction 2 - Also BLATANTLY made for console, then came out for the PC and it was complete garbage. I bought it, played for an hour and had it up for auction on Ebay the very next hour. |

Hey guys, I've been playing DX2 for the last two nights (PC) and it is very different from the demo thank christ. If you liked the first game, you'll probably like this one. A few things are lame like the lack of head shot kills and the unified ammo, but these annoyances slide into the background as you get into the game. I am really enjoying it. Just my 2 cents and junk.

Now I'm worried after all my "eager anticipation", this game is going to be a huge disappointment. I've read people's comments and reviews on DX2, and not many were favourable.
This game was made for console. And probably going to be ruined by the console. Same thing happened with Red Faction. |

deus ex 2 is horrible
the damn game is so not ready for prime time. i had to choke on 4 fps out of the box running at 640x480 res and lowest settings on all textures. turns out though if you run the damn game in windows 2000 compatability mode it picks up quite a bit. that coupled with a few other settings in the default.ini file made things a bit more bearable. so who else is suffereing at the hands of this public relations nightmare?
