Deus Ex: Invisible War v1.1 Patch Released

Things added/fixed:
  • Defaulted Bloom to off when starting a new game.
  • Adjusted mouse movement to eliminate feeling of "lagginess".
  • Adjusted the HUD so that it is pushed toward the edges of the screen.
  • Added option for turning all shadows off. This can massively improve performance, especially at higher resolutions.
  • Shrunk all text sizes.
  • Reworked mouse-based UI control within the inventory and biomod screens; right-clicking will now swap items in the inventory and toolbelt screen.
  • Added buttons for installing weapon mods and biomods.
  • The biomod/inventory/datavault hotkeys are now toggles (the same buttons will now both open and close these subscreens).
    Added quick save/quickload keys. (F10/F12)
  • Non-hostile AI's will now go hostile much sooner if shot.
  • Eliminated monitor resyncing during level transition and save game loads.
  • Increased the headshot damage multiplier for the pistol.
  • Increased the damage of the stun prod.

Is that even after you installed the patch?

What about your other games? This is fucking pathetic for such an uber video card! I'm on an FX5900 and am getting reasonable FPS (not as much as I would like but enough...). Try killing all your background processes and switching your Cards AA/AF settings to 'Application Controlled', this always works for me, also, make sure you're not downloading anything, affects the swap file and increases Hard Disk activity.

 This list sounds like a fix for just about every complaint I've heard about this game so far... 90% of it being performance related issues. Well you gotta give credit to Edios for listening to their users, though they probably should've investigated their target audience's computing hardware first. I think the problem goes a little deeper than shadows being enabled.... like they wrote a unoptimized render engine, and went gold too soon to make holidays.

so far the fix isn't really all that good of a fix. i've found it helps a bit but its still bad code and it still runs like crap without the little fixes i've put in myself. plus now i can't save the game. it just crashes every time i save so good job ion storm you've made another hit game that runs like crap.

Rushed game it was, they release a demo and one week later the final...most companies would have let some feedback come in on a demo. Money rules the world, release dates < money. Game runs a LOT better after the patch, so ill still play the game.

Good to hear the patch improves the performance quite a bit. I am still yet to play it in any capacity, but look forward to it soon :D

ANd yeah, always a little skeptical of games or anything released around christmas time. Although i don't think the game itself was really designed for mainstream gamers anyway?

I'm sorry, but that is disgusting. This patch just emphasizes the fact that this game was made for console with little thought towards the PC gamers who helped make the first one such a success.

Most of those fixes should have been done for the PC before it was released. (Pushed back HUD, Better mouse movement, mouse-based UI control in the inventory, etc.)

All they did was code the game from the console to the PC and hoped it would all work out fine.
