I played through the demo and I have to say it was amazing. It has to be better then the first one, definitely going to pick this up now.



Hint for the demo
If you beat it you will then have acess to a new type of game. It's kind of like a survival mode, its awesome:D. My best so far is just under 3min, but I didn't play it for too long.

My high score is 4:18 now, I need to buy this game.

Is the demo level unique to the demo or is it straight from the retail game? The fullgame is fucking incredible.

I think its from the retail, but I'm not sure about the extra level you get for beating the demo.

I heard it is not too long though, so I'm pacing myself with it. There are more games I like to play so I switch games regularly...
That way I can make it last longer...

One heck of a good story though. And the Havoc physics are awesome!


To repeat though: what level is in the demo?

Ok, got it, love it. But i wish I had the choice of going First person too.

The levels are Hospital, Vlaads warehouse, and Vlad's resturant. There is also a bonus level called Manor Yard and its in the Dead Man walking difficulty.

I think there is a mod that lets this be a reality.

From the demo, it doesn't look like this is a whole lot different/better than the first. Can you guys share what you like about the new game?

I beat it, got 8:20 just now. I made up a new strategy so I'm finally starting to pump out some good scores. For the record, I didn't use any cheats.

10:40 now and still without cheats.

My high score is 4:57. How do you use cheats anyway? That might be fun. :D

Id like to know how ou guys get 10:40.

My strat for 4:54 was to strafe between the Van and the pillar using bullet time, firing like a madmad and lobbing grenades. Basically I get f'd as soon as I run out of good ammo.

Also before there are too many baddies, make sure to load up on ammo and guns in that big pile they have by thier spawn.

Xiangsu is the only one who's done that good. And I'd like to know how he did that good too. I'm trying my ass of and I usually only get like 3 minutes or so.

edit - just got a new high score, 5:58. I'm trying to be more strategic in what i do.

It's partly my strategy which is go for the health on the far side and work my way back. Maybe it also has to do with the way I move and dodge, I dunno. Lastly a little bit of luck always helps, but I could pull out 8min no problem so its not all luck.

Yeah, i can pull off 3 minutes no problem . . . ;)

As for 8 minutes . . . i don't see that happening to soon.

eh... i dunno guys. Max Payne 2 looks good, but break down this game and it's really a P.O.S. Sure the graphics are nice, but so are most new games. The control in this game isn't top notch and the story is nothing too new or interesting, it's been done before... but so has everthing so w/e. This game is good for one reason, Bullet Time. Take that away, and this is nothing more than a bargain bin shooter. DX:2... now that's where the party's @.

Disagree totally, the story is innovative and is executed originally and brilliantly, the only time it's been done before is in Max Payne 1 and in some films. The controls are intuitive, however this is very subjective, I for one dislike the GameCube controller but some swear by it.

Bullet-time is just one of the many reasons why this game is so incredibly excellent.

"DX:2", is that Deus Ex 2? That game hasn't even been released yet.

EDIT: but the demo has! Go here HERE to get it! It clocks in at 233MB should be a doozy, lot of demo's hitting the net, so little bandwidth!

One thing I cant stand in MP2 is the bullet time reloads. My god....the first few times it was cool, but after that it just gets annoying

I just got 10:39. Damn, so close.

I'm starting to think i've been playing this demo too much. Oh well.
