Recommended GBA Games?

Tomorrow I will probably be purchasing a GBA SP, and I thought I'd have you guys help me out and recommend some good games for it.

What games have you tried and liked?

Castlevania : Aria of Sorrow and Harmony of Dissonance are both excellent. I've been playing a lot of Advance Wars 2 recently. Still holding my breath for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance though.

Advance Wars 1 and 2. Great fun and with a SP you will be able to actually see the game!

the games i own and still play quite often are Metroid Fusion, Advance Wars, Warioware, Inc., and Super Mario Advance: Yoshi's Island (this last one because I never played it on the SNES).

From what I hear, all the games recommended above are widely considered great games (Golden Sun, Castelvania, etc.)

Went out and got me a used Doom cartridge. Brings back many memories playing on my 486 dx! It's the only game in my GBA SP now.

Agreed! Since the GBA SP is backwards compatible you may want to try these 2 GB Color games also:

Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons

i dont own a GBA, but use the emul on my computer.. and i've also got about 200 games that i've tried out. advance wars i loved and was getting pretty far until i saved the game at the title shot instead of loading my save game about 10 hrs in. i gave up after that. i've got AW2 and cant wait to start it. i've also been engrossed by Pokemon:Sapphire. dunno why, its just cool too see all those different kinds of 'monsters'. i also like Medabots, but i think i ran into a bug and gave up. its pretty similar to pokemon with you gathering a small force to fight others. i fooled around with the Yu-Gi-Oh series too and liked that, but couldnt figure out for the life of me how to play the dice one.

I'm always accidentally saving at the title screen instead of loading up.

Thanks for the recommendations, guys! I looked up just about every game mentioned in here and they all look pretty good.

Anyway, I ended up going with Advance Wars 2. Wow, it's a total blast.

I'm going to borrow the Castlevania games from a friend (I really love the franchise).

As for Golden Sun, I'm probably going to borrow the first one from a friend and then purchase the second one.

I may nerd out and get one of the new Pokemon games at some point.

Oh, and FF Tactics for GBA will certainly be a good buy when it comes out.

WarioWare!

Seriously. Best GBA game I've ever played. Creative. Hilarious. And a game you can play for 30 seconds or an hour and have the same level of enjoyment.

Watch out for phantasy star collection - it's worth having for phantasy star II alone, but there's a save bug that will eat saved games for phantasy star I.

Get Super Mario 3 for GBA when it comes out. I think they're calling it Super Mario Advance 4... SMB3 is still my favourite game ever.

I just finished Advance Wars on GBA. That game is AMAZING! It's the first GB game I've ever gotten into big time. I've now started Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. My girlfriend says Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow is awesome; it got great reviews.

So far, I've only got the two latter Castlevania games, Mario Kart Super Circuit and Super Mario Advance 4. I'm dying to get Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (one of the reasons why I bought the damned thing), Sword of Mana and... well, there are always some good games available at reasonable prices!

Blargh! I don't know why I even bother with these kinds of games any more but people kept saying Golden Sun was good so I bought it....

Why?

WHYYY!??!

For god sakes man it is like every other japacrap, cookie cutter rpg out there! The only part with any hint of good ole rpg fun in it is the boss battles. But those are so few and far between that its mindboggling. 3 minutes of fun fighting an epic boss battle after eighty frikkin bajillion "so-easy-they're-non-toxic" fighting filler, and those gawd awful puzzles. I didn't buy the "101 Puzzles for Grandpa Pak" I bought an rpg, goddamnit. Don't get me started on golden sun in particular's translation. Lets stick to exporting anime and manga from Japan, ok? I just don't understand why FF games beyond the early, classic ones from snes (nostalgia works wonders) and all of their clones are supposed to be fun. Maby it's just because I was raised with the Fallout and Baldurs Gate series.

Golden Sun blows, silly consol users.

So, is FF tactics like that? Please say no because my GBA is the only thing I have to get me through the day away from my computer.

Advance Wars 2 kicks butt. (I own it, I know)

I only have 3 games, but I like them all.
The mario game that came with it and was just like my old mario game when I was little;
Lord of the Rings-The Two Towers -kinda like a simplified Diablo clone, but really alot of fun
and of course, the latest version of Madden football, where unlike the real NFL 2004, Michael Vick and Tampa Bay are awesome. Funny how fast something can become dated.

I gotta recommend any Super Mario game, especially if they look identical to their 16 bit relatives.

Man, just thinking back on my days playing Mario Brothers at a friends makes me smiles. Those games were kickin'!
