Does anyone have any recomendations for new RPG's on next gen concels?
 

I dont really own any RPG's for Next gen concels. Because i only trust square, and i dont want to waste money. Ive got a PS2 and a GC. Thanks.

if you had xbox then knights of the old republic would be an easy choice. disgrae or whatever it's called is supposed to be good though, that's for ps2. it's supposed to play like final fantasy tactics.

Yeah, well im waiting for Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, it comes out in like a week or so.

Lost Kingdoms was a lot of fun, but it was short.
I havent tried Lost Kingdoms 2 yet though.

try to find skies of arcadia on GC. Really good RPG.

If you didnt play it for the dreamcast Evolution Worlds for the cube is pretty fun, and I can vouch for Lost Kingdoms 2 it's pretty good as well. Also.. try out Mystic Heros.. all for the cube.

wizardry on the ps2 was a good dungeon crawl, but it was very old school. Dark cloud 1 and 2 on the ps2 were good.

Get Unlimited Saga, that game's the best game EVER!

I really enjoyed Suikoden 3. It gets a little slow towards the end, but the multiple paths and the way the story is told is increddible.

Final Fantasy X is great too.

Xenosaga is OK, but the story is very incomplete (part 1 of 6--but more like part 1/2 of 3) which would be OK if the game were less expensive or there was more to do. But the game ends at a very odd point, and when it happened I thought, "why are the credits rolling halfway through the game?" If you liked Xenogears, you will probably be upset both with the length and lack of any resolve in the story.

Kingdom Hearts for PS2 was worth playing.


If you look past the Disney characters...its really cool.

I liked the Disney characters. They added character to the game.

Too much disney, not enough FF. They had a cameo by every disney character ever, but not even half the Final Fantasy ones.

Though my favorite was in it. Good old Squall.

And, of course, Sephiroth.

For Gamecube, I MUST suggest Skies of Arcadia. Holy shit, what an incredible game. I've played many Final Fantasies, and it's up to par with them easily. Great game.

For PS2, I recommend Suikoden 3 and definitely Final Fantasy X if you haven't played it yet. FFX was the most cinematic of the series I say. Another amazing game!

As for Kingdom Hearts on the PS2, I have a few qualms with it. The characters kick ass, the story kicks ass, but the gameplay in it downright blows. There is nearly no strategy at all except holding down the auto-target button and ramming on the X button. You simply run around hitting enemies that re-spawn over and over again. It gets very old. If you don't mind real-time action RPGs that have really basic combat systems, then go for Kingdom Hearts. Otherwise steer clear of it.
