Tron 2.0
Get this game when it becomes availabe near you!
Picked mine up yesterday and played 4 hours straight. Great nostalgia from the film with great graphics. And most importantly, an interesting plot line. Anyone else playing it? |
I'm hesitant to get it because the multiplayer demo was HORRIBLE
|
I saw an ad for it, and I'm definitely checking it out. I LOVED the old game, and I can't wait to play this one.
|
wohoo
i am looking forward to this one :) , any release date for europe ?
|
I heard it was horrible... but it's pretty damn hard to screw up lightcycles... are there lots of lightcycles in it? :)

I tried the demo briefly, it is not anything like the game (except maybe the light cycles).
I really like this game cause it seems pretty heavily story driven, looks great, plays great and has alot of real interesting bits in it. My character just entered an old mainframe computer which is too slow to accept the Ai that is helping me. I have to find a way to overclock the system so it can handle the AI. The game is filled with stuff like that. If your a computer geek like myself your really get a kick out of it. Seems pretty linear so far but its a FPS so I don't expect anything else. |
BestBuy has it for $39.95 this week, and with the $5.00 off gamer gift card coupon only for $34.95...
I was thinking about getting it. I was stupid and just started another thread about it. Sorry. :( |
I played through the whole game a week ago at a friend's house over a period of three days.
My only rant: jumping puzzles. For the love of all that's sacred, I hate platform jumping, hate it in any FPS, and they bring it in by the bucketload here! There's a level nearer the end where you have to stop a power surge, and you have less than three minutes to trip three switches only accessible by moving platforms going up and down. Ugh. |

Those of you who hated the demo..did you download the first or second one? The one that included both multiplayer and single player was a great improvement...try that out before judging the game on that first released peice of shit. (but yes, they did screw up light cycles, armagetron is far superior)
|
Can only say try it, it's really great IMHO
|
I have been playing it, and I really like it. I'm not that crazy about the light cycles, but the rest of the game is great in my opinion. I was also a big fan of the old arcade game.
|
I played a demo of it... hmmm. Graphics were nice (but then again it is running the Jupiter Engine (http://www.touchdownentertainment.com/) and it's pretty difficult to go wrong when you are using an engine like that, but the game play.. hmmmm. Light cycles was good for nostalgia but the view wasn't right... or am I fussy...
|
I tried the demo but couldn't get into it... Though the game comes highly reviewed. I suppose I'd like to get it, but with so many things down the road (Halo, Halflife 2, Jedi Academy, AOM:TT) just this month I'm definitely not going to bother with Tron2.0 for now.
|
This has always been bothering me and since I don't know much about this game i'm gonna ask.
There's a game called Armagetron that has those bikes on it and they're almost exactly the same, so is Tron 2 just Armagetron with added stuff, or what? |
I didn't like the demo, but from what I hear, the full game has promise. I will wait until I see it in a clearance bin and give it a shot :).
|
armegtron is teh roxor!
EDIT: AHHH ITS NOT L337 FRIENDLY |
I dig the graphics and the game play is much like No One Lives Forever 2.
|
I've been playing it for week now. The game play is fun but nothing special. But if you're a fan of the movie, or just like computer geeky references, it's a blast.
