Freelancer wierdness
 

okay, maybe I'm the only one who's noticed this, but......

The max shield class for a frieghter is 7, maybe 8.

And yet, there is a class 10 shield generator, for frieghters.

Someone explain this.

I think it's in need of an expansion.

The game is biased towards Very Heavy Fighters, but you can finish the main story without maxing out your ship and equipment.

I'm not going to play the game again until they allow people to own more than one ship at a time. They need to add a garage or something for you to put your ships. I never bothered buying a freighter and doing freighter runs, because I didn't want to lose the ship I had before that. If I could own a VHF *and* a freighter, I would enjoy the game much more.

I don't think they're going to put out anything else for the game. They may do freelancer 2, but we'll have to wait and see for that one.

How is Freelancer? I got starlancer for 2 or 3 bucks, but it sucked horribly. I saw stuff about freelancer, and it looked cool, but is it actually a good game, or is it sucky?

It's too short.. If you were able to buy a large freighter and store your fighter in it, that'd be cool..

The only real way to play the game is multiplayer, with friends... but even then, after you've made it as far as you possibly can, it gets boring pretty fast.

Played that game with 3 friends one lan for nearly 36 hours straight.

The universe is so damned big, takes forever to explore everywhere and find all the hidden nooks and crannies.

I loved playing Freelancer, but I agree they should really let you own more than one ship. If you didn't get a chance to do freighter runs tho I'd say you missed out. There's nothing quite like hitting the afterburner trying to escape pirates while blasting back at them in turret mode.

I haven't played in a while, but I'm looking forward to playing some of the mods that are in the works. The one Starwars mod looks amazing!

there are mods for it? where? I might get more enthused if there's something new to try

if you want to find some real cool class ten nomad weapons, go exploring the edge worlds and the system that is at the bottom right in your universe. After a while you will find an unknown jumpgate and find yourself in a nomad system. Don't go there unless you are a really high level or have lots of friends wit you or really quick death!
