I still play CS and love it. In fact, I'm actually looking for a Cal im clan to join. Anyone here play?

It got boring and repetative to me, so I switched to DoD.....I feel the need to start playing CS again though

you get tired of it after a while, but it's easy to get sucked back in

i've been playing since CS first started and i still love it to this day. a lot of cheaters though.

Same here, remember how crazy the P90 was in the early betas? It was such a awesome gun back then, heh, but now it just sucks.

I started in Beta 1, but really played a lot in beta 2. Anyone remember how Ghosts could open doors, or how Beta 1 only had Glocks and USPs, LOL! It was soo funny to go into a server and just run around as a ghost and open doors when people least expected it.
About a year ago I quit, Started up again 2 weeks ago. CS Grows on you and when your away it seems like a drug, u need to play it again eventually. ANyway I am pissed off I quit, back in the day I was in CAL-I with AW0L a clan based in Montreal, we never went anywhere, well I didn';t anyway. But we had great fun. I still remember back in beta 5.1 when OGL was the best league around, my clan at the time was CC we went 16/0 got to first and that night we broke up LOL Great time :)

In fact I am having a LAN with about 8 people at my house this weekend to get back into the CS swing of things.

Currently I am in clan poe ` Were CAL-IM and hopefully will be moved to M soon.

Also about the P90 :) What a GREAT gun back in beta 4-6 HAHAH I remember the only problem with it was that it couldn't shoot through walls. So accurate.

i play cs regularly, I have gotten both my roommates addicted to it and one of them actually wants to join cal now, my clan, sweat, is in cal main almost made playoffs last season and are hoping to make them this season

anyone keep up with the cpl? I believe the prize money is $200,000 this year not sure how much the winner of the 5v5 tourny will get proly about $20k each, must be nice to be that good at cs

I haven't played in about a month, i usually play it for a few weeks straight and by the time I get real good at it again I stop playing for a month or two. Perhaps if I joined a decent clan i'd stick with it more.

It got a little bit boring for me after a while, hackers ruined it for me personally. People would be calling the person that had the lowest score a cheater and get an admin to ban him..it's just getting rediculous

Already reserved a spot for cpl summer byoc. Been playing since beta2, friend showed it to me. Long since has passed, still playing, still bitching. Got banned from 4 servers this morning with a clanmate, noone ever plays on our server in the morning. I do miss the beta4-5 fast paced style, bullets didnt slow you down and you never camped (atleast I didnt).

I'm downloading the mod right now to see what all this jazz is about. Never played before, how bad is the cheating? And where can I get cheats? I want to grief some faggots before I get bored and quit.

Used to play it a ton, 1.6 is okay... but with all the cheaters still playing that game, it's difficult to enjoy yourself and to match your skills against someone else.

I play it, but I suck.

I stopped playing when we changed our server to Enemy Territory.

I can't stand not being able to kick the hordes of cheaters and assholes, slapping the campers and dropping Half Life monsters on the whiners. :D

yep I'm a CS junkie. Give me a m4 and things might fall. I love the warcraft 3 mod for CS. Makes playing worth something. Orcish Horde all the way. Fave gun, M4.

Only because my old clan is doing cal again this season, so of course I have to play along.

I'm no where near as good as I used to be, and I attribute that to getting a life. sigh.

Haha, that reminds me of when I first joined the beta. It was so lousy playing it on my 3d card-less p233. What was even more funny was accidentally discovering changing teams via the console midgame would let me kill my teammates when they weren't looking, only to change back when they heard about the commotion. Hilarious.

Phaenx: if you like playing HL or HL mods, keep your cheating in CS to a minimum. After a week of cheating my WONID had been given a five year ban.

But of course we know it doesnt take more than a few emails and PMs to get another unused CD key.

Cs is now as gay as the cheaters who plague every server.
Also,every patch after 1.2 was stupid.


I played it myself quite a while.The game was fantastic in the beginning.The Voice command option wasnt really needed,but it was funny from time to time.

I think DoD is a much better game. Dont get me wrong, but DoD is much more of a challange to me, as well as much more realistic. Im sorry but shooting someone with a 5.56 round, even through body armor is going to kill someone. With DoD its pretty much one shot one kill. But I do like CS... its just a bit more Arcade-ish.

I'm enjoying 1.5 because it's evened out. I like 1.6 too because it has a totally different feel.

I haven't played regularly since beta 6.0.

How's the cheating situation now with all the anti-cheat programs in use like CD, punkbuster.

I'd like to give it a try again but the last time I played I was sniped constantly thru walls :(

DoD owns me right now.It has great community going for it. I've been playing since 1.0 came out and I have not come accross any real problems.

I still play 1.5 from time to time, but all of my favorite servers decided to stop hosting them. :~(

Heh, I played CS since beta1, with its three maps--wpnsdepot, prison, and the only one to continue, siege.

I played for years and became very good at CS, but have since moved on due to a desire for more immersion.


Currently my game of choice is the Desert Combat mod of BF 1942. IMHO, nothing right now compares to it.

The deagle is awesome with extreme ranged headshots. If you can't afford a good rifle, a deagle is the way to go. Get a deagle and an MP5 for the push/stun effect. Both are cheap starter weapons until you can get yourself an AK47 or M4. Also, the best weapon for humiliating the opponent is the knife, or being glocked to death. Blowing yourself up with a grenade is pretty funny too. :D

i still play once in a while but i have switched over to dod. i played cal-m and ugs-a so my cs skills are still there to some degree, but i just got tired of it and DoD appealed to me a lot more. i would join a cal-im clan or so if they were looking for an extra, but meh, we'll see. im west, btw. #zer on gamesnet

I'll usp or deagle til I pick up a gun or get an awp. If I do good with the awp, I'll keep buying it. If I mess up with it, I'll get an AK/Colt or mp5...

I play it every now and then...I love how you can just go in for a few rounds and get out...not some hour long RPG game or something!

Unless someone can find me a better looking game with same gameplay, I won't be switching for a while!

I used to play Tactical Ops, but quit when the new patch would only allow ppl who purchased to retail version to play. However, I've always been interested in CS since it is widely considered superior. So I'm probably going to get Condition Zero when it comes out. Anyone have any thoughts about it?

When I'm on my ethernet I play it fairly often, and I consider myself fairly good.

But are there really so many cheaters? Even on the servers that have the anti-cheat tools? I've never been one to call those better than me a cheater, but some of them make you wonder.

I've gotten good to the point where some cheaters I just consider an extremely good player and challenge myself to beat them. But dont think that they still dont piss me off. >:(

One of the things I did hear about CS was the amount of cheating supposedly going on. Are they working to fix it in Condition Zero? Cheating can't be completely stopped, but it can at least be slowed down.

I only play CS in lan, online is just not as fun.

Well, how they explained it is "If you're caught cheating, your wonid will be taken down and instead of being banned from just 1 server, you'll be banned from every server connected to the WONetwork." It's a good thing I dont cheat ^_^;

I play everyday on #1 or #2 24/7 Iceworld, if you filter so it just shows the icewords they are at the top, my name is ALWAYS
-mODEST-MOUSe- Look me up sometime just say you are from tfp :) btw only play on iceworld because that board kicks ass and those servers have anti cheat, i have seen maybe one hacker and he was immediately banned.

I play CS and love it. Ive been using the steam client for 1.6 and I actually like it as a way to play. Sure its buggy, but the geek in me tells me I need to be bleeding edge. But I do really f*ing hate sheilds... anyway, Yeah, its awesome. I'm a LTWFTW about CS.

I just began again. One thing about online gaming is that I have always wanted to go beyond creating some useless clan of friends. If I'm going to spend my time playing video games, I like the thought of going somewhere with it. I'm just starting to see things like cal-im and such, which I have absolutely no idea about. I'm guessing there are real ladders though which I'd like to look into. I quit Quake 3 because I seriously owned everyone at rail CTF. I would have stuck to it if there were some kind of regulated ladder that I could have followed.
Anyone care to fill me in on what I can do to take part in some kind of ladder clan?

i played since beta 1.1 but then last year i got baned for life because i was using the mysterious almighty ??????????????? cheat in my c:\???????????\???????????\??????? directory(actual report from VAC, ie no cheat existed) because of that i was a little pissed to say the least so i switched to enemy territory

I still play... i must say its a bit less entertaining than it used to be back in the old beta days. Take a break from it every once in a while helps keep it fun however hehe

help, i dusted off my Halflife CD, installed the update,downloaded CS 1.5, and when i try to enter any game i get

"Host_init:Couldn't load gfx/palette.imp"

My advice for issues like that is usually to reinstall Half-Life. Sorry I can't get any better technical advice then that.:)

I still play CS. Here in Simi a bunch of people from our school last year play, we have a clan and server. Playing in multiple leagues at the moment (Cal-O and some OGL one) which is extremely fun, perhaps the most fun I've had with CS. Having defined strategies for each map, instead of playing more Deathmatch style in public games, is a unique and fun experience.

I started at 1.3. I still play off and on, last night I download Natural Selection. My gawd is it awesome. You have to read the manual to be able to play it and not get screamed at by 13 year olds. I really recomend playing it between Cs. It's highly addicting

Just started playing last year, but me and my buddies are hooked. We play it damn near every night.

NOT only do i still play CS, i still play SC!!! (starcraft)
