Pocket PC
Tomorrow I'm ordering a PocketPC, and I'm wondering what the gaming situation is on those things. I know there are NES emulators and stuff, but how well do they work? Anyone try that out, and on what? KNow anywhere I can get free games? Please enlighten me

There's a kick-ass PDA/handheld gaming device coming out this fall from a company called "Tapwave". It's called "Helix" at this point, but that will likely change. I got some hands on time with it at E3 and have vowed to buy one when it's release. It's probably going to be $300 or so - expensive for a gaming machine, but not bad for a PDA. Plus it acts as an MP3 player and uses flash memory cards. Might be worth waiting for if gaming's a big priority for you...

well, its actually for school, note taking and such, but maybe i'll look into that one later...

The emulators work pretty well, though the SNES emulator I tried didn't work all that great, but my PDA is a bit old. The newer ones probably would run them fine.
Chess is a must for me, even though the computer always whoops my arse. |
