Does anyone still play Diablo 2?
 

I recently got back into Diablo 2, and was wondering if any TFP'ers still play it?

My friend that got me back into it got me playing hardcore, but I have already lost 3 chars while he tried to powerlevel me.. I am not sure, but it is frustrating to die on hardcore.

I am starting up a softcore rogue, and am always looking for someone to play a game with.

Aside from that I am just curious about whether anyone still plays the game, and on what servers (USEast, USWEst, etc.). I play on USEast but have since lost contact with all the people I used to play with. Which does take some of the fun away.

Maybe if anyone here still plays we could meet up in game some time and attack some vile demons. :)

My username on USEast is Jimpication, and my messaging info can be found in my profile here at TFP. My rogue is level 15 on USEast server.

So if anyone still plays, and could throw a reply here, maybe we could all play together sometime. I think that would make the game a lot more fun.

You'll find Diablo 2 to get boring after a little while. But when you do, get the Eastern Sun mod for it. It got me playing again. But I'm on this little private realm and such. When the new patch comes out for D2, I'll be playing again on West realm.

Agreed. I left Diablo 2 originally due to boredom, but I have returned, at least for now. :)

This Eastern Sun mod you speak of. Is that offline-only? You have sparked my interest, as I have never heard of this before. If you could provide some more info (or even a website) I would greatly appreciate it.

lol boy do i!!! i got into it again recently after i was able to get ahold of another play disc, because my old one got scratched. but right now i am so bogged down with school work i don't have time to play anymore. :-(

i just got D2, but i'll prolly not have it insytalled until tomorrow or next week. i know ext to nothing about it, though.

when i get it going i'll post and maybe we can hook up :)

played thru the game a few times but hack&slash just gets so damn boring

I used to play it lots on East but then I realized the good stuff came to those who played way too much or had friends who played way too much. I think my account is still active though and it is still loaded on the computer.

I play it on my local LAN with my son. No server needed, I supply locally. What's this patch your talking about?

I think its patch 1.10. Everybody has been waithing for that one for over a year now.

Hell ya play it all the time with friends, we'll get together at someone's house for a LAN party and D2 always comes out. Never been big on Lagnet though, I'd rather play LAN. Been playing it so long I don't even bother starting at 1st level, we just hack up 70th or 80th lvl characters with whatever stuff we want. Still a blast after all these years.

i still play i'm at lev 40 as a barbarian but Rinndalir what do you use to hack i dont like jemalla its getting really old and the weapons hack stuff sucks now.

:) I love playing it with the wife next to me... and over the net with my buddy in LA. Burned off a few weekends like that...

Since I last installed it on my computer, I haven't played single player. Its all been multiplayer. I have 4 characters on USEast that are all about a year old now.

I might pick it up again when the new patch comes out. Supposedly going to be a near-expansion level change to the game.

Anyone dupe? During the last littlle stinit of public duping I duped a bunch :D

The only major change graphics-wise would be some "new" monsters and elementals. The new is in quotes because they're actually some pretty cool monsters from Diablo 1. Makes for an interesting twist.

And sorry about that link not having much in the way of pictures etc. They just moved it, and the temporary old site just closed down. But hey, just download it and you'll see all the changes =P

I did...til it got all h4x01231). Im planning to give all my accounts and all assests of my accounts to my freind Trenton sometime.

i play every 6 months... cause when i do play i overplay.. and i need a 6 month break:).. US East all the way.. Id be playing right now but even this sucky temp computer can't run D2. Still have all my characters.. Lvl 80 something Zon and Hydra Mage :)

I can't wait for the patch.. the new ladder system will make it feel like the good ol' days :)

You know, I played that game right up to the last level, and before I finished it, I just stopped playing it. Over. Done. Finito. I just got way too bored of trying to level up enough to confidently face Diablo. It would have made it much better if they allowed you to carry your stats over to a new game like they did in the first game.

i stopped playing when they banned my account, now i only have my mule with 40 windforces

I still play occassionally, but haven't in a while. I have a character in USEAST or whatever it is called. My paladin is around level 50, I think.

its a good game... but after you lose a bunch of characters and lose all your cool items it pisses you off and you don't play... stupid college firewall

Its still fun, and if the patch ever comes out it should inject some new life into it

Basically Diablo 2 and Diablo are both strange games. I really liked them initially and then due to online cheating and just overall lameness at how it plays on even a pretty damn good system I just shun it for months. Then months later on a LAN with some buds, we play and I'm addicted again and then it goes away. Weird...I'm sure I'll relapse soon.

I restarted playing too. I play hardcore now on USeast too. It's frustrating when you die, but at it's the only way I can really enjoy the game. The economy is just too screwed up on softcore. How do you dupe?

I still play it from time to time. Check out the game Freelancer, its alot like diablo, but a space/flight game, its awesome.

As for Diablo II, I quit a few months ago before all the duping and hacking got out of control, luckily. It'll be nice when the patch comes out and there won't be all the idiots who have to ruin the game with their Iths, maphacks, and dupes on the ladder. I plan on returning when the patch comes out, and whenever I can get my computer fixed so I can play it again...

I started playing again after an absence of more than one year, to my delight all my characters were still there despite the 3-month warning. Now I'm all hardcore, USEAST.

I would have to agree about it getting boring after a while though, the only redeeming quality it has now is the ability to jump in and play for 5 min. when you don't have time for anything else.

I've played quite a lot, used to live in a garage with two other guys with all computers connected. Missed a lot of sleep.
Never liked Battlenet though, it's more a dick-measuring contest than anything else. Since I only play on a lan, I'm still happy when I find the Gnasher... Battlenet has an inflation of kick-ass gear that I find boring.

Right now I'm kind of confused though. I cab't find the english version where I'm at (Taiwan), and the Chinese version is pretty damn annoying. I have no idea what I'm picking up, I have to check the inventory all the time.

With school finally out I started playing again. I'm hooked. Damn this game.

I still play diablo from time to time just so my chars dont get deleted. I usually use my lvl 96 Barb on USEast named Constrict. I'm looking forward to the new patch though, if it updates as many things as blizzard promises it will I just may start playing agian

This is the 3rd game I've ever played that has made me lose a job. The first game was a DikuMUD..... The second, Half-life's TFC mod. Being on 56k, these are basically my only options for playing online. I don't bother much with TFC anymore, as that community is dying, or converting to counter-strike, awaiting HL2... The MUD is fun to login to occasionally, but for now, Diablo II EXP is running my life.... I've got a 99 bowzon on USEast I use as my main character. She's a magic finder and rusher. [ 488% mf with 3201 in poison damage ]. Happy to say she's 100% legitimate also. [ well, theres' that viper torc amulet, but what the hell. . . it dropped once... ]
I generally spend 8-10 hours a day playing... account is *RealKrylles. whisper for a rush sometime if ya want.

My wife and I played it way too much, along with some people from work. I finally got burned out on it, although having my lvl75 Sorcie get killed by the crash hack was part of it. I play 100% legitimate, and that's the farthest I'd evey got. When the patch comes out, I'll be online again.

I miss the game so much. But I'm not touching it till the 1.10 patch comes out. that will be sweet, if you already haven't the previews for the new patch you might want to check it out.

Bleh, all of you in SOFTCORE, get a real life and play Hardcore. Stop wasting your life away there ;)

the new patch is probably going to be released very soon, its done already, they just doing some final tests to make sure everything is okay

Ya, I play, or at least i did when I was in school, playing on dial-up sucks, so I haven't tried it. Gotta figure out a way to keep my account active now too.

I used to play, i'm prob gonna create a new USEast account this weekend to help a friend, I stopped playing a few months back any my account got deleted. I had a dueling sorc that owned everything but some Zons....

I MAY start playing again during the summer when the new patch comes out, but I'm really turned off by all the hacks. I hate hackers.

I'd like to know why my valkyre (sp?) spends more time staring at the wall than helping me out. I'm on most nights between 10 and 1 on east. Presently having trouble beating the ancients on nightmare. /Sauronlord

*sigh* I played Diablo II back in December of 2001 through January of 2002 - straight through single-player. (I don't play multiplayer with people I don't know because of the cheating and at the time no one else wanted to play it).

Now, recently, onodrim just HAD to go and ask me for it, so I sent it to her....and got the brilliant idea that we could play online together. That's all fun and stuff....except when next thing we know it's been 6 hours and I have a test the next morning!

Anyway, it's a lot of fun - but I don't get into it so much as to know different unique items by name and stuff.

because of D2 im never buying a Blizzard product again. The promise of a hack free game was gone in like 2 weeks because of stupid kids. What does Blizzard do? Absolutely nothing.

never buying another Blizzard product b/c of D2 is harsh... And yes the hacking has totally messed up the community and the online bots are really annoying, but Blizzard says they are working on the problem.

mmm... beating Baal on Hell mode... the cow level... such great fun. I've beaten the game with 4 out of the 7 characters, and I'm still playing. (*gets boring at times, but it's worth continuing*) :)

Anyone here have a necromancer? What did you put your attribute and skill points into? I want to start one, but it might be a better idea for me to wait till 1.10.

It depends on what type of necro u want. As a rule don't use anymore str then you need to wear you gear. Don't put any points into dex. Most the rest of your points should be in Mana with a few in life your gonna have lots of summons. You should have put a few extra points into life if your gonna be a curse necro.

hmm forget its either players 8 or /players 8 that will boost everything like you had 8 peps in the game.. with the 1.10 beta patch its /players 8

NOTE: beware youll get handed quick alone doing this 8)

Definately still have a blast playing D2 with my boyfriend and/or some friends. Especially with the renewed adventure from the 1.10 beta. =)

I've moved on from the Eastern Sun mod that I talked about a while back, to a new mod Zy El. Currently a level 112 Barbarian. With characters being able to attain level 5000. Skills max at 100, and you basically craft your own weapons with all of the new recipes. Not to mention 1500+ uniques, and 900+ runewords. It's so insanely fun. I must get back to playing!

The Chinese version just confuses me. Got no idea what I'm picking up.

I just re-installed it last week and it's sucking away most of my free time. I've taken to fucking around with beggars and people asking for rushes on bnet, especially if I'm playing a game where I'm trying to make real progress as opposed to one of the millions of Baal runs or Bloody runs. I like offering to give people cracked sashes and thawing potions... you asked for something free didn't you?

yeah but still the joy of this game is gone for me.. like i posted before.. i had all the top end stuff.. all legit.. no one legit could kill me and yet.. i gave it all up.. after makeing a lvl 87 hydra/thunderstorm sorc i couldnt kill anyone cuz of the bugged and hacked items they used.. it wasnt fun anymore.. I just went out and bought this game... after trying to get Baldurs Gate 2 to work on my computer i decided it would just be better to play this

I still play on occasion, it is a fun game to play when I have nothing else to do and am just looking for mindless slaughter.

I still play, on Mac laptop and my PC with the 1.10 beta patch.

I love being able to FTP my characters from one to the other and play wherever I go.

I still play from time to time, I also still play original Diablo sometimes. Not to mention every other Blizzard game.
