TFP D&D on IRC?
 

I'm interested in setting up an on going game of D&D on an IRC server that allows bots. I would need help DMing (if I did any DMing at all...) and making a website to store character sheets that only a few people would have access to (like the DM so that way people couldn't mess around with them, and the DM can look stuff up on it, along with the PC's.)

Along with character sheets on the site, could include maps of places (need help with that of course), NPC profiles, story line, weapon descriptions for magic items, and so on.

Anyone who would like to help me, or hell even spearhead this send me a PM, or find me in the #tfp chat room.

Remember we would need an IRC server that allows bots, and a room we could register yadda yadda...

I don't know if my Geek points are high enough yet to participate, but I'm interested in the idea.

Dude, I definately have the Geek Points.. I've been trying to convince my buddies of something of the sort for EVER..seeing how we're all in college and far away....

Who all plays D&D? I figure who ever GM's (I suck at it) will have either LOTS of players or we will have to have a coupla games to fit them all in. :D I'm definately up for this.

Oh, I suggest to make a MSN site
from there you can upload pics of all sorts including char sheets
and then there is a msg board to keep track of misc things

Sound good with the MSN group, that is if we can get enough space. If that doesnt work we can use Web1000.

I can make the CharSheets using Adobe, and make them PDF that people can edit, but only a few people could have the power to upload them if they were edited, that way a safty net ("no you cannot have that +25 axe!") and so on...

i've never had a +3 sword.....

Tho I did have the Ring of Thieves, the best damn ring in the world........... It had two big bonuses.. one.. it was a bag of holding in a ring (and a mere thought would bring the item into my hand).. mind you I couldn't put an elephant in there for two reasons.. It was alive, and it was a bit big for one item. Two.. My knives would reappear in my hand if I threw them...

Suffice to say I had about 40 throwing knives in there :D:D along with poison.. about 100,000 GP (that the party never knew existed :D).. Some gems, some rubies, some food, my zombie bomb (i'm imfamous for this)... and some other cool thief stuff :D

Z and I have been working on some story line idea's and stuff, that was... until my laptop power cord "blew up"...

so now im waiting for a replacement in the mail... and back to work we shall go....

well ive never played b4, but i'd liek to try on IRC, sounds fun.

I wanna join!!! I too had the idea of playing D&D online with people but alas, I am no computer geek (actually i'm almost computer illiterate) so I didn't even know if it was possible. I'm excited now!

any recent news? Heck Ogre if you want, I can try to set up a MSN site thingy to hold stuff.

I wanted to set one up anyways for stuff such as this..... AND a Superhero's rpg... I've just been to lazy :D

I'll check it out tho, if it works we could upload char sheets to that, so no one can change 'em :)

It sound's pretty difficult to me.And alot of work.

I wouldn't mind seeing the finished product though,or to help you guys test your system.



If we are talking 3rd edition/2nd edition I am completely comfortable with those rulesets.

3.5 sucks ass, its not even D&D (to me...) its just a Fantasy RPG... they fucked that shit up...

TFP's already got access to IRC servers and since I run it, the bot's aren't much of a worry if you let the admins (primarily me and TheCount) know about them and what they're for.

I'd be interested in helping out if you want...I'm not too familiar with IRC but webpages and such are what I've been doing for the past 5-6 years. If you want any help setting stuff up I may be able to help...leave me a message.

I'd also be interested in playing although I haven't played since 2nd edition (still have the 2nd edition books too although they are at my parent's place). Someone would have to correct me on some of the changes between 3.0 and 2.0....

I used to play D&D for 12 years until I found online gaming. I might have to brush up on 3.0 but I am definitely interested.

3.5 Rules were NOT that bad.
In fact,before 3.5 Rangers were just about useless.
Personally I don't usually play rangers,but the change made me want to.

I’ve never played real D&D once, but I am a good and quick writer so I will dm. I know none of the rules, though. This will be interesting! I hope this works. My current life sucks; this’ll help.

Someone remind me tomorrow to create scenario 1.

Since ogre and I have already put some story together he agreed to let me learn and do it this way… I will be like almost and author, ,but you guys will play the script. So imagine a backstory then campaign…. I turn your actions into the book, and so on.

sweet, so we just gotta let the IRC operators know what we are up to when we play, so that will be easy to take care of.

now. the big problemo. when will everyone be able to play. i want everyone who wants to play, online, at all times that we are playing.

i can try and work around a schedule seeing as how i dont work during the summer (even though its almost over...)

Been playing 3ed for a good two years now, but I moved away from my group recently, so I am in some hardcore withdrawl pains...

I would like very much to hook up here... but I don't know IRC that well.

I'm totally in it too. There are so many people wanting to join that maybe 2 diffrent games should be made with two diffrent DMs, and maybe 2 stories that interact together. D&D games with more than 8 people can get a little crowded.

And I'm also throwing in my Vote for 3.0.

I'd be able to play almost every weekday after 5, except Thursdays. And Most Sundays
