Are Mech Games Stupid?
 

I personally like the games that let me control giant robots but as i understand it, its kind of unpopular. Mech Warrior, Front Mission 4 and Zone of the Enders among them. I guess i just don't see why people wouldn't like these. What are TFP's favorite mech oriented video games? are they better on PC or on a console? Should mech games stay 3rd person oriented or should they branch out into different genres (i'm still not sure how i feel about TBS in Front Mission)? Discuss

Mechwarrior 2 is one of the best 10 games of all time, imho. I prefer PC games to console games in general, tbh, because you have better options with the controls and the mouse is highly precise.

I don't think they're stupid at all, in fact they can be very challenging and entertaining.

I was an old-school mech gamer. I'm talking about BattleTech and the original Mech Warrior. After that, I don't recall playing mech games.

Well, besides One Must Fall 2097, which was freaking awesome!

Everyonce in a while I check craigslist for Steel Battalion controllers and fantasize about using one as the start of a Mechwarrior simulation pit/pod.

I used to play Metaltech and Earthsiege 2 as a lad. They're the games that taught me to go for the eyes.

These sorts of games seem to have fallen out of favour. I am looking forward to the new Warmachine game, though. It's vaguely similar.
