The longest Jouney(got stuck) and metal of honor operation spearhead (health is toooooo low to get through the spot I am at)

Jasmar 06-14-2003 11:39 PM

I never beat Golden Sun and the last mission of Advanced Wars is to damn hard for me to beat

slant eyes 06-15-2003 04:38 PM

Zenn 06-16-2003 10:53 PM

Man, my uncle told me there were infinite levels in the arcade version of Gauntlet...so I said fuck it and never bothered.

Reminds me that I was stuck at the very end of Gauntlet IV on the Genesis; that last castle is bloody impossible to advance on! There are no doors, only stairs. The stairs lead to more floors. These more floors ultimately lead to previous floors.

I've still got the password for the level, but I can't be arsed to finish it. As far as I'm concerned, I clocked the game.

MikeyChalupa 06-18-2003 08:51 AM

I finished Fallout, and Fallout Tactics, but never finished Fallout 2. I purposely never used any of the many cheat utils around because I wanted to do it myself. I just never got the right character down. I'll do it someday.

Jane's Fleet Command is the greatest Naval Sim around. Well... when it works...

Zoom 06-18-2003 10:31 PM

I need to finish pro race driver that game is so damn hard and I'm just in he second tier

Cpt_Calhoun 06-21-2003 12:41 AM

I've yet to finish homeworld. I can't get past the second to last mission, so I repeatedly start the game over, hoping to be a little better off at that point each time.

crow_daw 06-21-2003 05:47 PM

well for me it would have to be that Blasto game for PSOne, cause I've beaten most games that I really wanted to since then, but that damn end boss was a BITCH, it took me forever to kill that huge robot bitch, and then his damn head came off and was all over me, there was no way.
And I don't know if anyone else has EVER heard of this game, but my dad got really pissed at Fade to Black, and I have to agree with him, it got ridiculously hard.

DarkCongo 06-22-2003 11:11 AM

i'm horrible about playing games and not finishing them... I still haven't beat Deus Ex, which i consider my favorite all-time game. I didn't beat FFX either but I was right at the end and I watched a friend of mine beat the game so i decided that that would count as the end for me

Sun Tzu 06-22-2003 12:01 PM

It was a game I had for the Apple IIe ages ago called Mobieus. Its not possible to ever finish though becasue its long gone.

darkmagex 06-23-2003 10:07 PM

i just went back and finished the marine missions in AvP2, a graphic bug with my old system prevented me from finishing one area a few months ago.

ending was like 15 words but i wasn't expecting anything. Just wanted to kill that Queen alien.

I never beat Turok 2 *legit* because I got to the 4th world and my memory card took a crap. There was no way in hell I was going through that again (anyone who played it knows the pain in the ass it was to find a save point) so I just jumped ahead and beat the final boss. I did beat Turok 1 on hard with no codes though, so I figure that makes up for it.

gduventree 06-24-2003 12:23 PM

The only game I regret not finishing is Secret of Mana on the SNES. Damn game kept crashing on me during the final boss fight, even though my party would have whipped his sorry behind.

All other games I play until I reach either my frustration limit or boredom limit and then consult the faq (yes, I'm not proud) to beat the game. For particularly good games I'll beat them fair and square (GTA3, GTA3:VC, etc.).

spillblood 06-25-2003 07:53 AM

i just started to play fallout 2 again maybe this time i will get through it all. oh and ff7 and ff8.

ozzy 06-25-2003 06:38 PM

FF7. I restarted 3 times but didn't follow through...

kenyan 06-25-2003 09:04 PM

Final Fantasy

healyk 06-25-2003 09:32 PM

I was really into Planescape: Torment and was about halfway through when I stopped for some reason. Keep wanting to go back but I'm afraid I'll never see how that ended.

Exsai 06-25-2003 10:04 PM

Half-Life, I can only kill so many dammed aliens
Virtual Valerie 2 :D :D

gerg01 06-25-2003 10:34 PM

Gran Turismo

radonman 06-25-2003 11:20 PM

Parasite Eve (allegedly it's possible to beat that game...)
Vice City (I could never get past the race mission on the bank heist deal)

Rick640 06-26-2003 07:05 PM

Dungeon Siege

Icewind Dale

Grand Theft Auto 3

All great games its just somewhere near the end of all of them something distracted my attention to elsewhere and there was no justification to go back and repeat 60-90% of the single player gameplay to get to play the last 10 - 40% of the game.

For some reason every zelda game ive ever played seems to end up like this too =)

Apokx 06-27-2003 01:57 AM

FFX was easy,on my game Yuna hit for 99999 ( as did everyone else )

One hit on the final boss.

THE ENDING PISSED ME OFF THO.

I had no idea what the hell happened.

LNCPapa 06-27-2003 12:03 PM

Chrono Trigger on SNES
Chrono Cross on PSX
Final Fantasy 3 on SNES
Final Fantasy VII on PSX or PC (have both - finished neither)
Final Fantasy VIII on PSX
Final Fantasy IX on PSX
Xenogears on PSX
Secret of Evermore on SNES
Secret of Mana on SNES
Lufia on SNES
Lufia II on SNES
Panzer Saga on Sega Saturn
Dragon Force on Sega Saturn
Grandia on Dreamcast or PC (have both - max of 2 hours on each)
Ikuraga on Dreamcast (too hard)
Zelda OoT on N64 or GC (have both - finished neither)
Zelda MM on N64
Zelda Windwalker on GC (played for about 2 hours and quit because of MMOs I'm playing)
Gran Turismo III (never got to 100%)

All those RPG's I just got too lazy to finish in one attempt - I'll probably need to start over to complete any of them.

Bobaphat 06-27-2003 02:48 PM

Super Mario Brothers 2 and 3

marclemange 06-28-2003 04:00 PM

i had dragonwarrior for my nintendo, and i got all the special equipment (armor, sword, whatever. i don't really remember) before i was supposed to. i wasn't a high enough level, and i entered the last castle before i was strong enough to win the game. oops. anyway, i'd love to go back and beat that game.

there was a game on the pc a while back called 'betrayal at krondor,' too. i got pretty far but stopped playing for some reason. i'd love to go back and finisht that, too.

for the playstation, i had a game called lunar. i could never kill the last boss. argh!

then there's neverwinter nights. i was addicted to the game for a while and got about halfway through it before, for some unknown reason, i just stopped playing completely. i want to get back into it, but i'm kind of afraid to get sucked into that again. i was playing it all the time. all the time.

TheClarkster 06-28-2003 10:38 PM

MGS2 for PS2: It just didn't seem quite as good as I hoped for. Maybe there was too much hype built up by all the magazines.
FF8 for PS1: This was the crappiest Final Fantasy ever. No doubt.

And to the person who said they never finished FFTactics, go do it, it's fun, and if you were enjoying the story, then you'll like the end.

Gotenks 06-30-2003 04:03 PM

Original doom's, resident evil's, and probably all of the zelda series (nintendo).

bundy 06-30-2003 07:41 PM

final fantasy 8 and 10.
never got around to finishing them... but now i´ve got a bit of time on my hands, im going to have another go.

CBlend 07-06-2003 10:43 AM

Eternal Darkness for GameCube. You have to finish it three times for the real ending. I finished it once, but I want to go and do it the other two times eventually! (I played through the "green" game, are the blue and red ones much different or just a few little changes?) The first play-through was fun!

FunHater 07-06-2003 11:33 AM

Super Mario Bros. 2
FF2
FF3
Chrono Trigger
Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker

The FF games and Chrono Trigger I never finished because I never got through them before my rental expired. Wind Waker is pissing me off because of all the goddamn sailing. I'm so close to finishing, but I just don't want to invest the time.

aarchaon 02-02-2004 04:45 PM

I could never beat the last Zerg mission on Brood War. Just kept getting killed every time. Gave up after a while.

bltzkriegmcanon 02-02-2004 04:49 PM

Final Fantasy 7 and Final Fantasy X

Watch it another time, pay extreme attention. And or beat the whole game again, pay more attention to the story this time. It's easy to get confused. But if you watch, think, and decipher you'll get it.

Btw, mine to finish is Final Fantasy VII. I'm working on it though....

n0b 02-16-2004 06:59 AM

Final Fantasy 9. Got to the final boss and couldn't beat it. So I decided to play through the game again with a strategy guide... which turned out to be the worst guide ever! Half the information was online and it was on a poorly designed site.

/Still pissed off about it

Oh, it's so worth it...eternal mode is such a good reward. But then you don't play it ever again. The two other modes are just the types of monsters you face. I.e, you got mostly sanity draining monsters, red playthrough will be health draining (that one is TOUGH), blue will be magic-draining.
Myself:
BG2. I don't know why, I loved the first one and I just can't get into the second one. I make it out of the initial dungeon and just get overwhelmed by all the available side quests.
Black and White: F that game. I got tired of teaching my stupid monkey the same things over and over, and then it gets taken away, plus to have to do that god damned tutorial every time you restart...
GTA3. I didn't play it seriously until I'd finished VC and it's kind of a step down in terms of look and feel. Plus I don't own it. I thought about getting the doublepack, but I settled for a used copy of VC instead, and I'm happy.
VC: I have to do the R3 missions and the jumps and I THINK that'll be 100%...
Resident Evil Code Veronica: I'm stuck in the Arctic someplace, I think. I only have it for the Dreamcast and that thing hasn't come out in quite a while, which is a shame.

To people who haven't finished Shenmue or Shenmue 2 I can only recommend that you put in the time. Honestly, those are the two most brilliant games I have ever played.

LNCPapa 02-17-2004 07:19 AM

Man Betrayal at Krondor was hard! I initially got it from a buddy - but liked it so much I got it myself (he was jealous mine was on CD.) I played that game for months and it just felt like I was never going to finish it - so I gave up :( I must now add 2 more games to my list

Final Fantasy X-2 (FFXI is keeping me from ever getting more than 31 minutes on it)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles (played through the tutorial - ever loaded again)

BuddyHawks 02-18-2004 01:47 PM

i dont finish many games

Morrowind (played for a year then computer crapped out with my saved game file)
Mafia (computer crapped out with saved game file)
Neverwinter nights (got to last lvl and quit)
Unreal 2 (got to last lvl and quit)
Myst
GTA 3 & vice city (just never got around to it)
max payne 2 (couldnt get past first lvl) (i will though)
Alice (reformated without saviing saved files)
Starwars KOTOR (reformated without saving saved files)
XIII (got tired)
Black and White (got tired)
Homeworld (too hard)
Age of mythology the titans
Hitman 2 (got tired of it)

ouch. First Level of Max Payne 2? All you have to do is shoot like, 5 guys and that's the end of the level. If you mean the end of the chapter, then that's another story.

HAHAHA oh no, i mean the begining of the first lvl!

I couldn't get out of the parking lot!!! I was jumping up walls and hitting the door controls for about a half hour.

Yes, i finally found the open gate in the fence and boy did i feel dumb (i still think it was a little hard to see). That was about a month ago....havn't played it since due to college:D:D

edit: well yeah, i beat the hospital intro.

nanofever 02-18-2004 09:47 PM

Shuikoden II: Was underleveled at the last boss, can't level at that point - really pissed me off

Vandal Hearts II: Stopped at the first boss battle because the game was too leveling intensive.

FF IX: Stopped 1/2 through the first disk, cursed Squaresoft for sellingout hardcore starting with FF8 - still boycotting Squaresoft.

Front Mission III: My CD had an error on it 1/2 through the game.

Half-Life: Never played more than an hour into the single player game.

the first zelda for the gameboy

started ff7 not long ago but i've already
almost quit playing it.. dunno why - it's a good game :/

chrono trigger; save file kept getting erased..

mario 3; i used to play that when i was younger all the time but i never beat it(i beat all the other ones for nes though)

there's more.. just too tired to think of em :P

Infernal 02-23-2004 12:12 PM

Zelda TWW It gotten very boring with the sailing and stuff, I up to the part where I have to get the tri force but nothing motives me to go on :(

FF-X2 I really want to finish this but I really hate the "girl power, charles angels, and power puff girls theme". I want to break this game when they do those stupid charles angles pose  I'm only up to chapter 3 maybe it will get better.

Ov3rKiLL 02-23-2004 01:41 PM

splinter cell. i just downloaded it again last week but when i started playign i unintalled it cause i didnt feel like going thorugh al the parts again. so looks like im never gonna finish it.

Dassin 02-23-2004 01:56 PM

Let's see...

GTA: Vice city - played through GTA3, just can't get into this one for some ungodly reason
FF 8 - I got to the end, then bought FF 7... which I played through twice.
FF9 - I played maybe 5 hours, then got sick of random encounters. Was more in the mood for tony hawk.
Front Mission 3 - LONG ASS GAME. Played through maybe half.
Metroid Prime - I think I got another game while I was playing it, and didn't go back
Rogue Leader - Same as above.
Jak and Daxter
Eternal Darkness
Super Mario Sunshine - I so need to play this again
Vagrant Story - Got half way through the game and found out I was doing it wrong, thus I sucked.
FF Tactics - Spent more time going through the tutorial than playing. It didn't appeal to me...

This is one sad list. Mostly because I own all these games, and haven't beat them :P I have entirely too much time on my hands also...

Date the Banana 02-23-2004 08:25 PM

Sin. I had such high hopes for that game, and could never, ever figure out what to do. Even with cheat codes I couldn't get past some places.
Multiplayer was a joke, better games meant empty servers.

cradeg 02-24-2004 05:07 AM

Blood Rayne
... well always the same

Afrika Corps
... lost a special unit and i lost interest to replay the mission

i am currently trying to finish

GBA : Golden Sun / Fire Emblem / Super Mario 3 /
GC : Metroid Prime
XBOX : KOTOR ...

as someone else said i almost never finish a game , mostly it gets dull and i use my energie for something new ... the only persistant game seems Everquest to me , mostly because my GF is playing it also

Nancy 02-24-2004 01:31 PM

Merlin... an old game from the early 90's. I managed to get to the final boss but didn't know how to beat him. unfortunately it was impossible to get my hands on any tips/walktroughs back then so I couldn't finish him off :(

bparker805 02-24-2004 01:58 PM

Socom 1 & 2. I get into the game and then hit a tough spot and just give up. Lack of commitment I guess.

IckUber 02-25-2004 12:51 AM

ff7..

dont hurt me.

Hercules 02-25-2004 07:05 AM

Splinter Cell :(
I got to this one part where you are in this lobby and everything is orange/yellowish, the windowblinds are moving in the wind, light is shining through them.
And theres 2 exits, both guarded by cameras with guards nearby.
I have no ammo, and Im screwed, so I gave up... and that was months ago :(

spoony 02-25-2004 11:39 AM

FF8 - got really bored with it.
Halo - Some error kept me from getting to the last level.
FFT - Again, got bored.
Chrono Trigger - I got really far in it, but never got to finish it. I've always wanted to, but I can't stand going through a game again.
HalfLife - Because I fail at life. :(
Windwaker - I don't know WHY, but I just upped and stopped playing it. I'm at one of the last dungeons, and could go play it.. but.. meh.

twilightfoix 02-25-2004 07:37 PM

my biggest one, the original Gran Turismo. Got a viper with all the add ons but never got all the liscenses.
never started a final fantasy game that i didn't finish. spent so much time on FFX before i fought sin, i 3 shotted every stage of him. 2 shotted the final boss

sinjien 02-27-2004 04:04 PM

FF 10 hands down. Rented a room from a guy who had the game. Bought my own memory card to beat the game but moved before I could. That was 3 years ago. My roomate now just bought the game as a PS2 greatest hit. Hopefully now I can finish this game. I also want to complete Parasite Eve. That game seriously pisses me off but i have to finish it. I have a weird complex that forces me to complete everything i start or my sanity begins to slip.

mehmehmeh 02-27-2004 04:57 PM

Yeah, Diablo 2 for me...

Sully907 03-12-2004 06:02 AM

STUNTMAN!

i never did finish the game stuntman, cool as hell game but arguably the hardest game ever for any system.play it its on ps2! you can get it for like 10 bucks now.

Sully907 03-12-2004 06:03 AM

oh and as a comment to those who say "so and so game is soooo easy" and things like that.

If the game were so easy EVERYONE could beat it not just you.

losthellhound 03-12-2004 10:43 AM

Im adding 'Sacrifice' to my list.. the last boss is impossible. .He can kill and grab souls much faster then I could even react.. Kickass game though

ingentis 03-13-2004 07:37 PM

halflife : always get about halfway through
FF9 : bleh
FFtactics : after the 2nd battle i quit :)

GTA vice city : finished story mode never did do the 100%

list goes on..

nukeu666 03-13-2004 10:06 PM

Hmmm... Let's see-

The Legend Of Mana- My siblings kept erasing my game so I never finished it.

Valkyrie Profile- I keep starting over for some odd reason.

The Legend of Dragoon- Hmmm... I dunno'. I just have no more desire to play it anymore.

Final Fantasy X2- Heh. I'm going to pick this back up some day. Just... Not right now...

VTBrian 03-14-2004 11:33 PM

Morrawind and boulders gate 2, both were because my hd got wiped, and now I can't find my morrawind cd.

cait987 03-15-2004 05:06 PM

hmm, lets see, alot of games for some reason ill just play for about a week straight and then just suddenly stop and pick em up 2 years later but off top of my head ..

Zelda:windwaker- finished nearly the entire game in 4 days then just stopped at the triforce charts, something about riding a boat for half the game doesnt entertain me ...

FF8- Got to about disc 2 then ide always freeze on this one video and couldnt skip it

FF9-something about a kid with a tail being a main character ...

FFX-2 - jobs are awsome but not in a game with 3 characters jobs only really work in a game like tactics with endless chars

and sadly (I was in tears for a week from this)

Final Fantasy the original - I was like 9 or something and played for like 2 weeks and was addicted and then suddenly my Nintendo deleted the game, damn 20 year old machine hehe, I then proceeded to whine to my dad for about a week saying that it was his fault that it broken ;/

Oh the days when your young ...

aarchaon 03-17-2004 05:15 AM

Starcraft Brood War. The very last mission is impossible I swears it.

Baraka_Guru 10-23-2009 06:34 PM

Necro'd!

I have a bad habit of not finishing games. I spend so much time "savouring" them that by the time I get close to finishing, something else comes along.

Off the top if my head, I wished I had finished the two expansions to Neverwinter Nights. Plus I never finished the original adventure of Neverwinter Nights 2. The latter was more due to my dismay at the interface and overdemanding graphics engine.

I didn't finish Half-Life 2 either. Though that is more due to my not being very good at 3d shooters. It was a lot of fun though. I sometimes felt like an action hero. Other times? I felt like I was actually there with a gun in my hand (read: clueless).

LordEden 10-23-2009 07:54 PM

Ghosts and Goblins for the SNES. You had to beat the game, then beat the game again with the special weapon. You can NOT beat that last boss with it. I once tried with a friend to beat the last boss with the special weapon and never beat it. We played it for 10 hours straight. Fuck that game.

BogeyDope 10-23-2009 08:25 PM

Operation Flashpoint

I got too addicted to the map editor to finish the campaign, not to mention that damn map where you start off in the woods. That one was killer [pun intended].

Plan9 10-24-2009 07:17 AM

Morrowind, sweet Jesus.

Yeah, I must have played that game for a zillion hours during 2007 and 2008 but never beat it. Icon is still on my desktop. The problem with Morrowind is that the main story plot isn't nearly as good as the other plots you could follow or user-created plots that feature werewolves, zombies, and vampires.

MexicanOnABike 10-24-2009 07:25 AM

Half life 2: I own it, i like it but it's so fucking pointless!! I don't get the crazy high reviews on it. The entire game is about you going from point A to point B to stop something. There is no other story line besides: new gun, new person to tell you what is happening... I get to the half way mark and i stop. The only thing that made it worth playing was "Concerned". look it up on Google.

Wow I can't believe I missed this 5 years ago. The exact same shit happened to me. That was one amazing game but when I got to the end dungeon, the end boss skull raped me, and you can't level up or leave the dungeon after you've saved. I never beat it because of that.

Also, Final Fantasy 8. I got to the end boss and couldn't beat her and didn't feel like leveling up a shit load to beat it. I beat the game using a friend's save file but that doesn't really count.

Breath of Fire 3: I used to be so obsessed with this game. When I was like 12 I used to get my mom to rent this for me over and over and over and over. I ended up buying the damn game and the strategy guide. Then I got to the end dungeon and it was unbelievably long and confusing and I got side tracked with another game and never finished it. I still feel bad about it because that game was a huge part of my life for months.

Jet Force Gemini: This was a really cool game with awesome graphics and controls, but towards the end you're forced to basically do the entire game over to collect some items and this ruined it for me. Never finished it.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask: I simply couldn't get into this game. I think all Zelda games are overrated and this one was no different. I never got more than 3 hours into it, but it got really really crazy high reviews so I still feel bad for not finishing it.

Sins of a Solar Empire: I bought this when it came out for cheap and never played it. It got good reviews and I still hear good things about it but the tutorial was unbelievably complicated and it ran like turd on my PC so I never played it through.

streak_56 10-24-2009 12:07 PM

GTA: Vice City, apparently I'm really horrid at this game.
FF XII, just got bored.
Mech Warrior 4, got bored with it because 3 was so much more superior.

I'll throw my hat in the ring with beating FFX, I played like 100+ hours on it because I was in love with it so much
