Well that was certainly unexpected...... I was wondering around 'off road' looking for red sage to complete one of the Strangers missions and came across a woman kneeling over a dead man crying. I sat and watched her for a few moments thinking it might be the start of another random challenge when all of a sudden she pulls out a pistol and shoots herself in the head.

He was crying beside the corpse of a dead woman. (she was lying in a pool of blood with a pistol by her). He then takes the pistol (or his own pistol) and killed himself. I kinda figured something like that would happen, so I was looking for a button prompt to interact with him, maybe persuade him not to, but it never happened, and he then killed himself. Welp, when I came across the crying woman I knew what was going on, so instead of watching it again, I shot her myself. -50 Honor! I guess it's just one of those cool/weird random things Rockstar puts in their games. By the way, has anyone seen the weird message on the back wall of the shack by the dock in New Austin, south of Thieve's Landing (across the river from the Old Bacchus Place in New Paraiso), and the one on the ceiling inside the barn of the Marster's Farm? What's up with them? Anyone spot any more? One more statement... Damn those ninja bears!!

I stopped playing GTA4 because it became a complete pain in my ass. Someone was calling every couple minutes to go play darts or get a meal. I don't have to work that hard at my relationships in real life, so why the hell should I do it in a game?
Thankfully, RRD isn't quite as bad. I've found myself spending hours hunting and even enjoyed the occasional picking herbs. WTF? However, all of them pale in comparison to Fallout 3. I loved wandering the wastes and getting into all kinds of trouble. Even if I didn't meet anyone, it was still fun to just walk around.

I am having difficulty with a side mission where I have to play Liars dice. Any tips on how to win this game?
Besides that minor issue, I am having a blast with the game even though I find using a horse to get around everywhere to be rather slow and I am glad I am not in the 1900's. |

Plus, there are certain times you can catch your opponents when it's only 3 players, including you, that way you only have to play against 2 players. I don't recall which village it's in, but if you type in the name of the side quest and Liar's Dice into Google, it should bring up the Red-Dead Redemption wiki, which will give you hints and tips. I'd do it myself, but this damn tablet sucks on certain sites. Mind you, this is going off of my bad memory from when I played the game last Summer. IIRC, the advice on the wik was to never bluff. If you didn't have what you needed, don't lie. Hell, I don't even have the game any more. Good luck!

The easiest strategy is to tell the truth. If you have Three 4s, bet Three 4s. A couple things about the computer that helps is that they won't call a bluff on a bet of less than Four unless they don't have any of the number being bet on. This is why telling the truth is so handy. They'll commonly call your honest bet of Three 4s a bluff. They don't underbid(much) either. If they have Four 4s, they'll bet/raise Four or more. The last thing about computer players is that they really like to call bluffs at bets of Four or more so the more you make them bet 4 or more, the more they call bluffs on each other.
Hope this helps.

This game won my game of the year award with absolutely zero debate.
The storyline is very good and the dialogue is a joy. The voice acting, especially John and Bonnie's, is superb as well. The visuals are beautiful. The only true issues I have had is the lack of controller configuration, the auto-aim can easily have you killing the wrong person and and the tasks get redundant. . I lack the strength to press l/r 3 so using Dead Eye is very hard for me. also. bonnie... omg that's one insanely sexy character. |
