Wii Remote Issue

So the wife and I have been playing the New Super Mario Brothers Wii a lot these past couple of days ... but one thing is getting frustrating: The Wii remote that the wife uses always looses the connection to the console. Each and every time. If we are playing and the connection is lost we can easily reconnect both of the remotes and everything is fine for a couple of minutes, then it happens again. Right after it happened, we'll switch remotes and the 'new' one that she has will loose connection. Neither are on low battery, we have tried the hard-sync on the remotes, it only happens to her, more often than not she is floating in the bubble (don't suggest her from stop being close to dying a lot, because I've already got in trouble for that comment). She hasn't played the Wii in a while, but we never had this issue before - mind you, she has not put in the hours into other games. Nonetheless, does any one have any ideas, or are we to suffer with it?

When you switch remotes, do you also switch who's player 1 and who's player 2? If so, It's probably a console problem syncing the 2nd remote.

It could also be interference from close to her. A cordless phone, cell phone, radio or anything like that.

She likes playing Mario, so after the second or third instance of the controller losing connection she would hand off the remote (Mario) and she would take over who I was playing. Low and behold, the next time it looses connection is my lady playing with Luigi or the toads. We've even gone to the extent of changing seating positions when playing ...

Maybe she's a robot.

Or she somehow holds the wiimote at an angle where the sensor just can't read it anymore?

Does she carry a wireless phone in her pocket? Not a cell phone, but like a household wireless unit that might broadcast in the bluetooth range?
