Soul Caliber 2 on console
Which system are you gonna buy the game for? The each have a specific secret character, I'm going with GameCube so I can play as Link.
|
Gamecube, mostly because that is the system i own. Plus.. come on.. Spawn? Heihachi?..
|
I've played it on the gamecube. Link is cool but I didn't like the controls ( as in gamecube controller layout). It's probably just something I'd have to get used to though. My first choice would be the xbox because the controller is a lot like the dreamcast's and it has spawn.
|
I'm so torn on this subject :( I like Link and Spawn, but I loathe the GameCube's controller layout, and the Xbox isn't much better for fighters (I love the original controller for FPSes like Halo though). I absolutely love the PS2 controller however, and think Heihachi is the dumbest idea for a secret character. I'd rather Crash Bandicoot was playable than Heihachi. I've heard of a mystical aparatus that would let me use a PS2 controller for other systems though, which if true opens a world of possibilities... Anyone know more about it who can provide some kind of link? Cause that's the deciding factor for me really.

There are a few reasons I'm going to get the Xbox version.
Better Graphics than PS2 Only 1 controller for GC I like Xbox S controller better for fighting games Friends also have xbox so its ready for travel :) |
My roomate has the Japanese version for X-box, and it is so great... it makes me want to cry. I've been a bit fan of Soul calibur for as long as I can remember, I'm not really too fond of any of the extra characters, so I'm chosing X-box, because the controler setup is similar to the dreamcast.
All hail Voldo and Ivy! |
*ahem*

Most places are selling it bundled for about 100 dollars. |
I already got the game on Gamecube and I'm sure no matter what system you buy it for your gonna love it. I bought it for gamecube because thats my favorite of the two systems i got (ps2 is my other) and also I think Link was a much cooler bonus character than Heiachi. The game is the shit. The only 2 discs that have been loaded in my GC since I got it 2 weeks ago is my freeloader boot disc and the sc2 disc. it has got so much depth for a fighting game, i keep getting better every time i play and its the most beutiful game i've ever seen worth playing. Anyone that is anticipating the game release should just import it, there isn't really much you are missing out on from it being in Japanese, unless ur obsessed with like character bios and shit. this is by far my favorite game, same goes for any of my friends that played it. its the bomb. blows away tekken by far. blows away any ps2 fighter. blows away any xbox fighter even tho that statement dont mean much. go get it now.
|
Got me the GC version already... but im also a big fat comic nerd, so when the Xbox version comes out here in August, I may just go for that. Don't get me wrong, I love link and everything, but he's far from the perfect character.... Seems lacking something... I'm not quite sure what yet.
|
kinda leaning towards the Xbox version, but might get Gamecube, I could get all three if I wanted to
|
I am fucking pissed that PS2, will not have Spawn, and the X-box will. Who gives a flying rat fuck if Heihachi is on the PS2 version?!Why would I want to play SC2 with a character without any weapons?
Also, Link is gay. |
I have the gamecube japanese version and it's great! The wavebird works excellent for it.
|
I have both an Xbox and PS2.
And though I'd much rather have Spawn as a playable character, I'm going to get it for PS2 simply because I hate the Xbox controller for fighting games. |
