Is it a sim? Or is it another multiplayer war game?
|
There's a good argument... Is it a sim or a game?
Some would say it's a little of both. Aircraft and ballistic modeling are considered to be quite accurate, but the "Main Arena" is not a historic battle. It's a three sided affair with aircraft from WWII USA, Germany, UK, Italy, Japan, etc... you can easily find yourself fighting a P51 Mustang in your F6F Hellcat. The scenarios that happen periodically are more historically accurate. Take a look... the download is free. You pay to fly in the arenas but head to head stuff is also free. Oh... must add, in the main arena, it's quite common to find 400+ players. |
It looks pretty good. But my computer is a bit low on harddrive space right now. But because it looks very good I'd assume it's also an almightyly large file.

I've tried it....it's a great game but damn I can't get it to work on the lan at all.

Looks like a lot of fun. Good thing is that it even runs on so-so machines...yay!

It does for a little while anyway... They are developing Aces High II now. You can bet that system requirements will spike.
Must add... it won't look as good as the above pics on a "so-so" machine. I updated my processor and RAM and the settings were at maximum on everything for the above screenshots. At lower settings, it's still quite playable. My last machine was a 750 Mhz AMD and a 64MB vidcard... did fine for most situations. Large aerial battles near carrier task groups could stress it down to a slide show, but other than that, it was okay. |
