Anyone Play Anarchy Online?
I have been an addict for quite a while now, I am wondering if any fellow TFPers share my addiction. My ingame name is Cratz, I am a 157 Crat on Atlantean. Anyone else play it?
|
I played it for about a month, then had to move to a new place with no internet connection. Now that I'm back online, I've been thinking of starting up again. Its pretty fun, in my opinion, but its the only online RPG I've tried so far....

Hm, used to have a 77 agent, wonder if he's been purged...
|
I had a 50 Enforcer, about 5 months ago. Probably been purged like the agent. Quit because the game just got really repetitive. Switched to SWG, still lovin it :).

I bought the game and had my one month free (only to see that once I bought it I could have had a 7 day demo for free, doh). It was cool being in an alien world for the first few days, but once I found out combat is basically all there is to it, I quickly lost interest. I last had a level 4 Soldier on some barren road en route to "Entertainment" because I couldn't use/figure out how to transport myself somewhere faster.
I dislike the game. |
I was extremely addicted to AO for a while, I played an adventurer and enjoyed it a lot. But, I'm too much of an opportunist, and I spent all of my time doing missions nonstop, and it really burnt me out. I ended up cancelling and resubscribing to AC.

Beta'd it. Hated it.
|
Try Neocron instead, its more Player vs Player oriented. Very fun.

I was playing the AO Shadowlands Beta for a bit. Didn't really grab my attention. Also the game is graphically lacking.
|
I played it for a few months and enjoyed it. There's a lot of professions and a lot of options (although not as many as appear).
The game just seemed... awkward to me. It felt the exact same to use guns or melee. The spells weren't all the interesting. The poor combat animations along with the botton clicking made it seem like you were just trading statistics. |
I beta'd and for some reason bought it at release and gave up after the free month in horrid frustration.
I played it again for a few months last summer and enjoyed it. It still didn't get me horribly addicted, but it worked and had some interesting things going on. I don't think any MMORPG will hook me like EQ until they realize how important the sense of exploration in EQ was. How cares how many square miles your world is if it's just lame ass random generated terrain, with nothing but random spawns in it. Good well designed dungeons that take awhile to work through are what made EQ (for me at least). |
