No New Games for Regular XBOX!?!?!
 

I have had a regular xbox since I was 16 and have loved every second of it. I simply think that it's one of, if not the greatest game console there is. Is anyone else disappointed by this?

Well, what do you want from them? They don't make Dreamcast games either, and that was IMO the best console of all time.

here here. The regular xbox was sub par compared to the others of its time but the 360 dominates the others. I think you should try to make the switch.

I'm considering buying a PS3 just because of the epic hardware failure rate of the Xbox 360. Has there ever been a console that has had as many hardware problems as a 360? I think I'd rather just build and maintain a gaming PC.

I haven't heard of any troubles with the Elite, if you're thinking about buying a 360. Yes it's $100 more, but it comes with 120gig hard drive and HDMI cables. Those cables alone cost more than that as a regular 360 upgrade.

They stopped making Atari games, too. And Sega Genesis.

Time to mod your xbox I think. I picked one up from a pawn shop, ordered a mod chip and put a 500 gig HD in mine. that ran me about $300 bucks total. Now its networked to my computer and hooked into my big screen, its got all the old games (nes, snes...) and about 15 downloaded xbox games.

Does the Xbox 360 use just a regular HDMI to HDMI cable? You can get an HDMI cable for dirt cheap off of monoprice.com. There's really no difference in quality between HDMI cables because it's all digital... it's all just a bunch of 1's and 0's, it either gets there or it doesn't, it's not like an analog signal. Major retailers that sell HDMI cables for severely inflated prices (best buy) and Monster would like to make you think differently, though.

a) Yes, it's a standard HDMI cable.

c) Yes, digital cable quality makes minimal or no difference depending on the range of manufacturing quality you are looking at.

I used to buy Monster and Acoustics Research cables religiously. Now with signals being all digified, monoprice is my cable-lover! There is, however, a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive". I won't, for instance, buy cables from Radio Shack. Poorly made cables can be a detriment to your digital experience, but there are places to get excellent quality cables without doubling the price of your HD purchase. :)

It has been about 2 years since Microsoft stopped producing the original xbox. It only makes sense that new games would stop being made.
