Free DoD:Source weekend?
So yeah. I told my buds that i wasn't going to "sit and download a huge file just to try it for two days and be heckled about buying it."
Needless to say, I was finally coaxed into just getting it. Part of the reason was because steam had already preloaded 75%+ of it. It took 30min to finish and I was off. I played the game with a friend and I had a ton of fun. I may consider buying it and playing it to quench my intellectual strategic side - the side that isn't quenched by playing CS:S CAL. Anyone else play this game? I think it's fun, but I'm weary of paying $$$ |
I think it is less strategic than the original DoD. This coupled with the fact that it takes way more system resources than the original (i.e. DoD:S strains my system) makes me reluctant to ever play it. However, if you're not weighed-down with the expectations of the original, and you have a machine that won't cry when you run the game, it surely beats the pants off of CS:S.

OK, what is DoD?
|
DoD: Day of Defeat. It's a WWII-themed mod for Half-Life.
DoD:S is Day of Defeat: Source. It's the remade version for Half-Life 2, which uses the "source" engine. http://www.dayofdefeat.com/ |

i play DoDs all the time only fps i play now couldnt stand how fake and cheesy css was. nades that dont kill people and shots going 3 feet over where the gun is pointed just because you fired more then 3 rounds is a little too fake for my taste. but yeah dods is harder on your system but mine can handle it so its alot of good fun =)
I play on the !PAF server as Plaid13 if anyone wants me to shoot at them =) |
I think I like DoD source way more than the old DoD. More than I can say about CS source which I hate compared to 1.6.
