I think I may adopt the OCM? / BadNick form of posting here - meaning: I wait for the bump, and then post.
It makes easier to post, for one, and then I don't also trip over my fifteen topics limit in which I've set for myself. -- (to note: We, I mean you, perhaps the entity known as 'The Thread', missed a consecutive streak last week. It upset me for half a second, mostly because I wasn't there.) - - - I wonder if either (four?) of us are in-tune to all these "Finals" going on around us? |
Not just to bump this thread, but I also have a couple questions.
What do you mean by "missed a consecutive streak last week"? What "Finals" are you referring to? I know my son is into the NBA thing but are there other finals also? ...I guess a lot of students are taking finals about now, being end of school year for many. |
There was one full day (and then some additional hours) in which this thread did not register a single post on [un]said date (I believe it was on the 26th).
I'm trying to raise awareness to whichever Finals you are willing to talk about, and then I'll chime in... for example, I just partook in some three off-and-on hours recently to watch Game 1 of the NHL Finals, which just concluded in spectacular fashion. -- (to note: additionally, there's also school finals to graze on, season finales to dish about, the NBA Finals might also come up, or how about thos French Semi-Finals, aren't they something? Is the Tour de France starting soon? I wonder... but none too often out loud.) |
I wondered, Jetee.
I wavered towards some fretting 'bout your whereabouts. 24804 but I thought, my dear, since that tends to be my wont, it's just your bizness. |
Well said, Ocm?. Me, too.
I'm in the mood for squid. How 'bout some Cambodian sauteed squid with fresh green peppercorns and scallions? http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...eppercorns.jpg |
This thread languishes;
I don't see a way away. Should I shut up, too? |
I doesn't seem to jive up with the word's meaning, but "languish" sounds like something nice to do.
|
Plank to plank, they were...
|
Zook, you talking about those pirates?
|
Arrrrg! Avast ye matey! Ye can swab the poop deck, but ye can't poop on the swab deck.

Your object, fascination,
from your subject matter, based in fact, cannot preclude each other. +++ The reasons I followed you? You were too pretty to be believed, & you seemed legitimate. |
Ocm?, that inspired me to see if pirate haiku exists. I guess I should have known that on the internet, everything exists Pirate Haiku
|
My daughter sent me
something referencing that, as if I wrote it. I laughed until I cried. 24/8x1=3 |
|
Something to cry for,
besides beloved country, might be in order. (Where are they? Have they been interned, or hiding?) |
I love that book! ...Cry, the Beloved Country. It was one of those books I read that inspired me to read more good books because it moved me.
I don't know where they could be, Ocm?. It's just you and me in here for now. |
Just you & me here
are proceeding apace-like, & quite morally. (2-4)+8+1=7 //Suddenly beyond content, in a state where satisfaction lies, if not knowing where I am. ...abs// |
Speaking of space...
http://images.spaceref.com/news/2011...7e036710-1.jpg |
Ocm?,
In this regard, I've told myself that we should stay focused on "persistence". Sort of like the fable of the tortoise and the hare, or the hare and the tortoise if you have that perspective. gg, that is a pic that warms my heart in so many ways...as I'm sure you would if you were here :) ...no disrespect intended. I had a couple beers for lunch which seems to loosen my tongue, both physical and virtual. |
(also speaking of space):
No-space 'twixt my ears seems like telling you a lie, but I'll discuss it. (Very nice of you to drop in, my fellow horticulturist!) |
See...I love flowers and plants. Who in the right mind wouldn't? Or even left mind.
Soon, when I "retire" from my life as VP of Engineering, I hope to find a "job" in a flower shop. There are so many things I would enjoy about that. Will do. |
More natural than a library,
with their vibrations more intensely self-sure, flowers depress nobody I know. 2x4/8=2/2 |
Another idea....maybe it can be a library filled with plants and flowers.
|
|
Great scene, Zooksport2.
Communication failure can be a problem. -(24/8)=2-5 |
It probably hurts me more than it hurts you.
|
Maybe so, BadNick.
I just close my eyes real tight & wash up later. (2+4+8)/2=7 Then, too, you're employed. I only talk to artists who want their brains picked. It's an amazing culture, right? |
|
Nice, nick, now see if this will....

What are we up to? I'm chatting with sillygirl through easy gmail. |
I just chatted with sillygirl via mental telepathy ...I hope she picks up my vibes.
Ocm?, I sent a second wave in your direction and then turned to the south to help another one go all the way down under to Zooks. I turned my power button up all the way to help it get there. |
It needs more power!, cap'n!
|
aye aye, Scotty. Get the cheese to sickbay!
|
Funny you say cheese:
around the time you mentalled, I was eating some. Smiling? But of course! Cheese is as good as choc'late when you're in the mood. |
I love cheese
I love chocolate chocolate cheesecake mmm mmm mmm I don't happen to have any chococheesecake at the moment, but dear wifey made some pretty good looking homemade mac & cheese that I'm about to taste...before the wild wolves aka my boys eat everything in sight. Growing boys must eat must be true. In fact, thanks to readily available technology, here it is with her stuffed peppers in the background: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../mcwstpeps.jpg |
May I come over?
I need something well-prepared & more delicious. |
of course, please come visit anytime

I'm glad it's Friday, it was a strangely long week. Weekend's forecast: NICE! |
I like that tune, as well as a light rain on a warm sunny afternoon. And that reminds me I can still remaster my future.
It's possible rain tonight but tomorrow will be nice here, too! |

won't be there until the end, if you look forward. (I wonder if Jetee will ever read this?) |
If he reads it and doesn't post, we won't know.
Go Phillies! ...I also veg'd out today at Maoz, just about like this one...underneath all that is falafel, roasted eggplant, and hummus: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../maozmagic.jpg |

Interpretation's tricky, but it needs to be done & trusted before progress can be made. |

(LOVE IT!!)
Imagine, BadNick, as we know not in real life, it's just, what it is. 24846 |
It's not even noon.
I think it's way too late, though, to wonder what was. (24/8)+4=7 |
just did 6 hours at the workshop...
All caught up, now... |
A couple days ago was the longest day of the year.

Is today the 27th yet?

Thanks, Jet, but I'm too much of an optimist to be interested in The Doomsday Vault and Nukes. But the efforts to save seeds for the future is a great idea.
There are some beautiful libraries in the world, some of which we've posted here or in the "where in the world" thread, but not many of them have plants and flowers integrated with the library setting. These are not really mixing books and bulbs in the same space, but I like the idea of gardens on library roofs: You can read where this one is: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...ary-Solar2.jpg I really like the look of this one, the University of Warsaw library roof: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2...mon-kubiak.jpg |
I believe I actually might have posted one of those before, in the Visual Architectonics topic.
(I think it looked more like an undulating golf course on top of a building, maybe somewhere in Southeast Asia?) There's something wrong with me. I never have anything to say. |

I try to remedy the stallwarts with reminders that conversations flow best, but the contradiction still remains: I still have little idea of how to start one.
Here's a futile shot: would anyone care to do some algebra with me, until whenever the next topic emerges from its mole-hole? additional: I found THIS when I entered the query of sample algebra problems into the big G. |
((2x4)/8)+5=6
You expect conversation? It's mostly free-floating give & take, if you're willing to have it. |
I'm pretty damn good with algebra...now. Back when I was first learning it, it was a struggle. But then it must have fermented in my brain and suddenly I realized it was flowing like second nature...or first nature, if you prefer. I almost always help my two high school aged boys with their math homework. When I was much younger, I enjoyed tutoring cute girls who needed help with math.
I just looked at Jet's link above and found this word problem: How many quarts of pure antifreeze should Mr. Alberts add to 10 quarts of a 20% antifreeze solution to make a 50% antifreeze solution? |
My algebraic tutoring stories is limited to just the one, and it was quite long ago, embarassing, & had to be capped off with my earnest yet idotic statement of "we just got paid". youth. i want you back.

10 20 50 quarts ... my answer shall be 15 quarts. I probably used math to figure this out, but my deductive reasoning skills in life are likely more advanced than any mathematical ones I still have left. |
Ethylene glycol,

Problem #16 - Synthethic Division
Divide: -8x2 - 7x + 2 x - 6 Answer: ____ -- to note: the original problem had multiple choice answers, but again, that invoves some form of deductive reasoning, in which the least likely answers are elimated in favor for the answer that looks more likely. I'll see if I remember how to solve the above (hint that may throw all of us off: do I use the quadratic formula?) |
TFP person formerly known as: 'Augi,' used to play here once in a while.

See, now it's going to kill me - what was his "formerly" username? Hain? Oh, that's his new one.
I believe I'm recalling this right - the virtual persona known as Dilbert1234567(?) also liked to dabble in numbers, if I'm not totally making this up. Last bit of nostalgia: do you also recall who was the original girldetective? (I have a feeling she's written me off.) - - - Plus: ring, how am I supposed to share all that I am if I never have any time? Here's gift, seeing as I recall you mentioning how much you adored that one topic devoted to paraguas (I am just now noticing that the Spanish word for 'umbrella' can literally be translated as for {use in} water... refreshing) from the following folders... Share on TFP -> Nonsense -> Umbrella click to show |
Oh, my very dears!

Do I start by doing an 'x + 6'? Isolate the x? |
Always isolate the x.
You can't figure it out, without that. Deduction comes with answers. |
For the first time in a long time, I'm finally going to get around to clicking these youtube boxes.
Going to start with the most logical occurrence, that being the one directly in front of me (above me; I didn't start watching it until 2:01). "Stay Strange." |

I'm content with strange: I see no alternative, & I'm not alone. |
I surely would not want to be the poster-child for "normal".
On the other hand, you may have noticed me previously posting that I no matter how weird I think I am, I eventually conclude it is within the realm of normal. |
The "realm of normal"
trains its broad shoulders as toys & not all that well. I went to St. Paul, last night, for "Above the Line..."; met artists' mothers. What the artists said was unclear in both cases, & one was ugly. I'll be editing, not for personal reasons, nor professional. |
Was this an art crawl
in St. Paul? I hope you didn't fall. It took me the longest time...I suspect it's a world record...to find a place to hide in my current "where in the world am I?" turn. |
It was in St. Paul,
& even up the four flights, I didn't trip once. Since you found a "place", I'll go & make the next guess, trying to find you. |
catch me if you can
which brings back very fond memories of me chasing Maria around the library...I mean laps around the outside. Inside we sat next to each other and felt childhood orgasmic sensations as we touched hands and legs. I wonder where she is now? Where in the world are you, Maria. |
When girls tickled me,
my reactions embarrassed, 'til they said, "Yes, please." Not knowing reasons, not caring any longer, but able to try. |

Why search for such things?
Respond to who calls your name, or something random. ((2x4)/8)x7=7 |
To find something through your own means is fulfilling. And it leads to other things, some good (familiar), some bad (dead-ends).
It's my prerogative to look, discover and decide what's worth any effort at all. |
|
2x4=8=8+0
One's prerogatives begin & end where they want or they can't be them. |
I want to comment in here...but I can't even come close to figuring out what is going on.

Our main purpose is to work toward being the longest thread on this forum. We were that for a short while, but then our nemisis thread here, whose evil name I will not even utter, passed us again. Otherwise, we like to talk about whatever is on our minds, or your mind. So just throw out an idea or what's on your mind today. Keep in mind that this section used to be called "TFP Nonsense" although the authorities renamed it a while back to "Tilted Fun Zone" in an attemp to trick the unsuspecting into this section. |

Well that is just nonsense.... Kind of like all my posts will be around here. I think I can follow those posting rules and throw some nonsensical thoughts in now and then. |
maybe not the longest, but still long:
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OS_J0gYpjs...s-long-day.jpg |
gg, that makes me long for another doggie.
I had my previous beloved Dewey (as in "do we want a dog or don't we) for what seemed like the longest time, though in hindsight I wish it was a lot longer. He was a black Lab and was our pet for 15 years but sadly his life came to a natural end a few years ago. Now I'm longing for another pet friend. Longest truly, Nick |
BadNick,
I understand how you feel..We had a chocolate lab that was the best dog we ever had. A great companion and protector of all things ours. We still miss him greatly. A new best friend is needed soon. |
See, I knew I like you. Yes you, Not Me. Hey, I just noticed you live in the Mrs. I hope you're not an unemployed rocket scientist from Stennis.
|
No absolutely not...Unemployed at the moment yes..but not a rocket scientist...I don't even play one on t.v.
|
I play one watching tv.
Other than that & occasional this, I do social work. Do you like butterflies, Not Me? |
I don't really know if I like butterflies or not... I have never ate one. har har har.
Butterflies are cool...there are many different colors of them. I used to live near a park where the Monarch butterflies would congregate to breed...pretty awesome sight to see so many in one place. |
At Blue Mound State Park,
southwestern Minnesota, a grove entranced me. (a good example how haiku can be precise & not descriptive) {Did you look at The Extemporaneous Story yet, Not Me?) |
I have not...but I will.
It takes me a second to figure out if you are talking to me or asking us all about yourself. I should have chose a different name. |
Not Me's a fine name.
I'm surprised you could get it. I'm happy you're here. |
If you're not you, how could you deny your name? <<< that makes no sense so I guess it's almost perfect
|
It is absolutely perfect.
|
Absolutely, Not.

Two quick responses for the above, BadNick: do you regularly visit the SuperStock website to peruse, randomly search thier archives? I haven't followed up on it since I introduced it to you about a year ago, but by any chance, did you take the previous screen snapshot using FastStone Capture? Just wondering. - - - - - random bit: Here's number #11 from my TLTE! Blog-entitled folder webnote (minutia) http://26.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_le...k0xfo1_500.jpg - - - hmm.. revised bit: apparently, the above foto from the fargone past is entitled, Young woman in swimsuit and hat sitting on pool diving board; Ft.
