I thank you kindly for your clarification. My love and respect for you are renewed and in full bloom.

OTOH, I have a friend I met through business who was quite successful and highly respected in his field here in the U.S. as well as Europe and South America...and last year he quit it all and moved to China to partner up with some people in his field of expertise...water treatment. I imagine there are such opportunities if you happen to be able to take advantage of certain niche requirements.

Jetée 11-07-2009 02:34 PM

What kind of solutions, scrubbinies do you use to clean the (auto) parts?

BadNick 11-07-2009 02:41 PM

I just brought the parts into my kitchen to see if I clean them in the sink, but if it gets too messy I'll take them to work on Monday since we have a professional parts cleaner.

The sooty sort of dirt I've had on my hands since fondling the parts seems to easily wash off with mild dish detergent. So I'll try just brushing the parts with that and water. I think the dirt is just mostly oily vapor depositions over time.

Zooksport2 11-07-2009 02:43 PM

Also: In 2005, Kero One released the self-produced album, "Windmills of the Soul," which was named the "Best Hip Hop Album of 2006" by Reemix Magazine. In 2007, he opened the office for own Plug Label. In 2009, he released his sophomore album, "Early Believers."

Also, for those of you that truly know my keen intuition and uncanny knack for finding my coincidences, I researched (finally) the album picture that BadNick posted about 2-and-half-months ago (08/24).

the album name is <S> marks the Spot ; artist: Sandwich

okay, here is an audible version:
track #11 "Selos" (I think the whole album is on youtube; also, I don't know what language this particular tune is sung in, but by the title, I think it is Espanol ~ "selos" means sky, heavens I think, or is it "cielos"? Ah, he said "la luna"... I'm still not sure.)

whatever, it's a good song, I think. What I want you to look at is the upload date on youtube: it was uploaded today. It's like I was meant to find it, none other day, no other inspiration, or conversation before this moment, for me to happen upon it.

I'm grateful for all you and the 2-D companionship.

Jetée 11-07-2009 03:36 PM

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandwich_(band)

There's the link above.

This is the (abridged) history:
Sandwich is a Filipino rock band that was formed in 1995 by Raimund Marasigan and Diego Castillo for the purpose of fulfilling their mutual desire to work together. Castillo recruited former band mates (from The Aga Muhlach Experience) Mike Dizon (of Teeth) to play drums and Myrene Academia to handle bass duties. Marasigan was a judge at a contest where Marc Abaya jammed to a Beastie Boys song with his band, Shirley Beans. He was then recruited by Marasigan to be their vocalist.

The album that Nick posted innocuously elsewhere, and I remembered I said I'd look for it, then I did for ten minutes (ago), and I've wound up here. I just can't believe that the entire album (which was released sometime in 2008) was uploaded in its entirety just today, when I had an itch to find out more.

I guess music is my thing today. (I just finished watching Almost Famous about two-and-a-half hours ago.)

Fox Sports News is "in the air, everywhere", or so one broadcaster tells me, weekly. It's very popular in Dallas, LA, Philly, all the major markets.

I inquire because recently my favorite radio station, besides having its format flipped from talk radio to sports talk radio, switched its allegiance from SportingNews Radio to the growing monopoly that has become FoxSportsNews.

Sorry, I meant to reply right afterwards, but my connection sank six minutes after your reply.

I already forgot what I had previously written.

While I prefer SportingNews, after being exposed to FoxSports News now day and night for awhile, I found I like what has been referred to as ""possibly the best sports talk show host in America" in Tony Bruno. I also like the "celebration of life through sports", hosted by David Stein (SportingNews).

FoxSports is in the major markets, such as Dallas, New York, LA, Philly, and more... it's just a growing monopoly of talking heads muttering about balls, with only a few of them actually having a worthwhile opinion.

Man, my first post was much more coherent than this smattering that I'm offering now. 1824

Watch out for my younger son...he seems to kill everybody. Well not his own team, usually. Though I do hear an occasional "oops, sorry".

What the hell is a "betty"???? Is it common to have them underwater? These are the things I would like to know.

My mom's dog ran away.
I thought I had the dog cornered when she ran up the wide steps
of the Veterans Hall building.

The dog scooted past me.
Somehow I was able to heave my 50 year old-200lb body into the air.

The flying tackle was a success. Dog captured.

My knees and left shoulder need some fixing though.

Ice is pretty cool.
Time for heat.

carrot glace 11-09-2009 05:35 PM

bouncing betty's, not commonly found underwater as i can remember, i seem to run into them frequently in any case

BadNick 11-09-2009 06:19 PM

carrot,
my kid told me he has to "turn on my mod" and then the game lets him put betty's underwater so he can better blow up unsuspecting passers-by.

Just from overhearing conversations from my den, I gather that these mods, of which there are many, are frowned upon by some serious players since it's basically cheating by use of some weird hack to the controller or game software. I think my kid has other mods that greatly increase his firing rate and other such useful war capabilities...though I think he's finally realizing that to gain respect of his fellow soldiers, he has to kill everybody within the rules.

Do you ever use a "glitch"? I think that lets you move through the landscape in "unnatural" ways...like getting from here to there without passing through the space between, or you can walk through walls and over roofs that are normally inaccessible...so I'm just learning this from hearing "our recon plane will find them wherever they hide" and other such banter.
