So, the first week of February, 1998? (2,4-98)

That would be a right uncanny coincidence if I was in the 3rd grade at that time, but my my mind's math tells me that was only 11-1/2 years ago. Way off on estimating my age, I think, with tinkering.

(Now I actually have to consult google on how many seasons it's been since I was in the third grade)

Unbelievable.

International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia there in that time in which I outlined. I had to use more fingers than I had anticipated but I was in the third grade at that time.

That's it. I am the most coincidental man in the universe. Nothing else. Trademark it. Postmark the date. You've met that guy, and I'll probably help you pick up your grocery bag or tell you the time or nod your your way next year this week wherever you may be, because I'm just that uncanny.

BadNick 10-07-2009 05:58 PM

Would this work?

2491

Hey, it did.

May 6, 2492: Belgian astronomer Jean Meeus asserts that the orbits of all eight planets and Pluto will be within the same 90° arc of the Solar System. The last time this is believed to have occurred was on February 1, 949.

Buck Rogers (c. 2419 with the original comics; 2491 with the 1970s TV series).

Jetée 10-07-2009 06:05 PM

Sadly, the year 2490, both in reality and in fiction, had not much going on at the time.

Maybe a dinosaur died out that year, and just one person notied this, but while running he got tired, and a tree fell on him. Nobody heard it.

That must be by doc18, and that reply must be two years old, if not older.
I've never said to be more than a dualist, and I've entirely too long to watch my first and only television program for the day.

Also, for more info on Jean Meeus, encapsulate his name with the [WIKI] tags.

Here's the first paragraph summary of his work and life:

Jean Meeus (born 1928) is a Belgian astronomer specializing in celestial mechanics. The asteroid 2213 Meeus is named after him.

Jean Meeus studied mathematics at the University of Leuven in Belgium, where he received the Degree of Licentiate in 1953. From then until his retirement in 1993 , he was a meteorologist at Brussels Airport.

His area of interest is spherical and mathematical astronomy.

In 1986 he won the Amateur Achievement Award of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific.

BadNick 10-07-2009 06:48 PM

24 ate 8 ...ahh, quite filling

That Mr. Meeus was quite the scientist.

Jetée 10-07-2009 06:52 PM

The original date baffled me when I went further on to read that he died in 1993.

I wonder when the next planetary 90 arch thingamob is happening... if it happened in 949, then again in 2942, well, then... ahem, carry the 7, add two millenia, then perhaps in my lifetime?

4935? I'll let the scientists figure that one out.

By the way, twenty-four eighty-seven.

This will get nearly as repetitive

BadNick 10-07-2009 06:56 PM

I'm very multi-task-oriented, so much so I skip to things upon other things while going halfway through them all, I leave them all to be finished until tomorrow. I got to work on that.

Here's some dumb thing I clicked on youtube: Bikini party (I don't think I'm going to finish watching this video. Perhaps you'll fill me in tomorrow.)

BadNick 10-08-2009 07:01 AM

I woulda guessed 2479 for this one...which obviously is the 500th Anniversary of The 1979 World Series wherein the National League's Pittsburgh Pirates were pitted against the American League's Baltimore Orioles, with the Pirates coming back from a three games to one deficit to win the Series in seven games. And lest we forget...the Pirates were famous for adopting Sister Sledge's hit anthem "We Are Family" as their theme song.

I don't have a watermelon pun.

This may be funny, depending on if you get it or not:

A farmer in the country has a watermelon patch, and upon inspection he discovers that some of the local kids have been helping themselves to a feast. The farmer thinks of ways to discourage this profit-eating situation, and he puts up a sign that reads: "WARNING! ONE OF THESE WATERMELONS CONTAINS CYANIDE!"

He smiled smugly as he watched the kids run off the next night without eating any of his melons. The farmer returned to the watermelon patch a week later to discover that none of the watermelons have been eaten,
but finds another sign that reads: "NOW THERE ARE TWO!"
