BadNick 01-30-2009 11:30 AM

Not my bike but jet hot is a brand name for their type of metallic-ceramic thermal barrier coating.

Wonderful weather whirling moans creepily through my window, blowing blankets of fine snow-dust across freshly modeled paths.

The longest thread I have found elsewhere is on an erotic writings forum.

That's 147,612 replies, and 1,454,602 views. 3691 pages.

however, thats a read to post ave of 9.85 and this thread gets 16.82, so we have nearly twice as many participating visits.

In the fifth grade we were required to build a bridge out of toothpicks. For a solid week, that was our project. It was not fun. What we built was trash and it was never finished.

Ourcrazymodern? has an excellent story about birchbark.

My wife and I are watching "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" while we were in bed. I turned to her and said, "Do you want to have sex?"
"No," she answered.
I then said, "Is that your final answer?"
She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying "Yes."
So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."

ring,
when I look at the "properties" of your red "X" I see:

http://http//i253.photobucket.com/al...ile0008-39.jpg

...which you'll notice has that redundant "http" and that won't work. I think if you simply remove the second http// it will be OK, like this:

Tophat665 02-05-2009 10:48 AM

Heck, Nick, you're way to amusing to be an engineer. Unless you're an engineer in training.
Remember, creativity is 1% inspiration and 99% persperation, which is why engineers tend to smell a bit.

BadNick 02-05-2009 11:36 AM

Top,
I shoulda been an artist...but then I'd be even more poor than I am now :( Otherwise, you probably know that an engineer is always in training...new things are constantly being discovered that we need to know to do our jobs. Currently I am looking for a way to ride a surfboard on a gravity wave, and the massive government funding for such a project.

Regarding smelly engineers, I think I used to smell a bit, but now my two boys spray up the whole house with Axe body spray and other teenage odor covers/girl attractants and the residual vapors keep me smelling like a french whore engineer....before my second-hand deodorizing maybe it was more like a german whore engineer....but an engineer nonetheless.

genuinegirly 02-05-2009 11:53 AM

Engineers are smelly? Phew, you don't hang out with enough chemists. Try mixing BO with xylene. Trust me, it's not fun.

This odor combination is also quite popular at the Friday night drag races...smelly car guys at the track right from work, blended with high octane liquids.

I should have been an actor, but I wound up here. Here being an all purpose spreadsheet herder and Number Farmer for projects I'm not cleared to know the name of. Nice and abstract, and nothing I wasn't prepared for by 6th grade. Gotta love going through DifEqs in college and wondering 20 years later if you're going to be able to get it back in time to teach your kids Calc 1 in high school.

People tell me I should be an artist, a brewer, a web designer, a radio guy, or, Dog forfend, a teacher. I don't like what I do, but it gives me the money to do what I like.

My sparring partners in Martial arts (for lack of a better term. We didn't do sparring. Three other guys more or less my size. The Rhino Brothers.) were all engineers - Mech, Civil, and Environmental. If creativity is 99% persperation, I pity their coworkers. The didn't get to give it back. I did. :D

Tophat665 02-07-2009 07:32 AM

OCM, that's a really apt simile.
Memory is like compost. It takes the dregs, orts, and leavings of experience and accumulates them where they blend and become a melange in which individual items blur, but which becomes fertile ground for cognition.
Well done!
