In know some of you are thinking, "Bob and Doug MacKenzie have their own Heritage House?" I am sure somewhere in Brampton they do. But this one is not theirs.

MacKenzie House
Situated in downtown Toronto, Mackenzie House is a Greek Revival row-house, which was purchased by the community for Mackenzie who was the first Mayor of Toronto, an outspoken newspaper editor and leader of the 1837 Upper Canada Rebellion. Explore the museum, the recreated printshop and gallery featuring changing exhibitions. Enjoy several celebrations of Toronto's Scottish heritage including Hogmanay, scotch tasting, and Robbie Burns Day or visit the museums on the Doors Open Toronto weekend.

Moss Park Armoury at the corner of Queen East and Jarvis.

I was going to post pics of this... I drive by it on the way to work everyday.

By the way, Upper Canada Rebellion was a very good beer. They discontinued it. The Fools!!!

The island is not sinking, that's the way it is. Which is a pretty honkin big clue too. And it's a cast iron bitch to get in around the shoals to that stone dock when your ship is 750' long.

O.K. Feelgood's warm, but not quite hot (go west young man). As for the fort itself, here is a bit of history.

The first fort on this site was constructed in 1796 and had a different name than it does today. This post was significant to the British forces during the War of 1812. The current Fort was erected after the war and rebuilt in 1838-40 and served as a centre for the British defence during the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837-39.

Not sure if this is helpful, but the town where it is located shares its name with the original fort.
