Great! I get the same deal with Barrie, because I grew up there, and we had a big twister back in the 80's.

It is indeed. I have had more than a few business lunches in it's Cafe Victoria. I worked in the building next door, and I remember when our offices were flooded with teenaged girls who mistook our build for the King Eddy, and were looking for the that amazing pop sensation, "The New Kids On The Block" who were staying there.

The interior includes massive marble columns and a skylight in the lobby. The exterior was completed in French Renaissance style using terra-cotta trimmings. The hotel was designated as a historical site in 1975 and closed in 1979 for a $25 million restoration. It re-opened in 1981. And its old-world charm can still be found at the Cafe Victoria.

That is a sweet picture! There's a highway near Banff that looks similar. When I was pretty young (10 or something) and my family would drive out to Banff National Park once in awhile and we would drive across this particular road that was friggin narrow (much smaller than 2 lane road) and on either side was the lake. Can't remember it, but that's the first thing I thought of when I saw that picture

97th Street and 118th Avenue. It was donated by a local business and is actually made out of aluminum. Community spirit building and monumentalizing, there is a business assosiation in town that is trying to turn 118th into the "Avenue of Champions". Future plans include a giant hockey stick. No, I am not kidding. There are also a bunch of sports themed murals along 118th ave, and there are sports silouettes on the lightposts.

Charlatan was close enough, so game on.
