O.K. Feelgood's warm, but not quite hot (go west young man). As for the fort itself, here is a bit of history.
The first fort on this site was constructed in 1796 and had a different name than it does today. This post was significant to the British forces during the War of 1812. The current Fort was erected after the war and rebuilt in 1838-40 and served as a centre for the British defence during the Upper Canada Rebellion of 1837-39.
Not sure if this is helpful, but the town where it is located shares its name with the original fort.
