cool, now i know the name of that house, which I pass by almost daily. I'll have to visit the other one out west (college * landsdown). There's also a that cluster of tilted green cubes close by the Gardiner, or were they torn down recently? |
I used to pass the college house every day and it has a small "Spaces by Rohan" sign on it, and our vet is near the Coxwell house. I wonder what the neighbours think?
Next up: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...Picture056.jpg |
I love the house on Coxwell and like the one on College. I was reading in uTOpia: Towards a New Toronto that he is building another house somewhere in a back alley off Jones.
The house in the picture cost, $50,000 for the land and $138,000 to build. The house on College was cheaper at $17,000 for the land and only $80,000 to build. The key is finding infill plots upon which nobody wants to build (the Coxwell one is located in a ravine and the College on was a pie shaped wedge). |

QUOTE] Since you mentioned it, there is a funky infill home in the alley west of Jones between Dundas and Gerrard. I'm not sure it's Rohan's though. I'll have to take a closer look. |
You're right, it isn't his. I just checked and it was made by another company, Duckworth-Pilkington. It is a sustainable home.
Here's an article about it: http://www.cdnarchitect.com/issues/I...RType=&btac=no |
Neato. No guesses on my last photo?
|
colborne lodge? (in High Park) not sure just a guess.
As for funky infill houses, I think I've seen a few, I'll snap some shots and include them in this thread if I see any... |
Colborne Lodge it is. Game on!

wow. stab in the dark, but I should have known, as I've been on the kid's field trips there on numerous occasions.
K: Here is a pic I took a few years back. Where is it/what is the feature in the background? I have edited the feature in the foreground to preserve my wife's privacy... http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/71ab3a04.jpg |
Crow's Nest Pass?
|
nope. But..... it is out west. (wooooo....)
|
Rogers Pass?
|
Hells Gate - Fraser Canyon?
|
I was going to say Craigellachie, but I'm pretty sure that's been done. And I was just going to say that because of the train in the valley.
So I'll guess the tunnel mountain train loop. |
Quote:
Spot on! splck! game on. I'm impressed. This was a beautiful view when I was there. Hell's Gate was impressive too! |

Damn power poles... |
Next...an easy one.

Some mountain around Banff?
|
It's not near Banff.
It's quite noticable when you drive the coast to the interior. In BC, of course ;) |

|
damn westerners............bunging up the game.

flyman... I was sure you would know where this is.
|
as you know.....my google skills suck ass,and.......i've been by that place before, just can't put my finger on it.
still trying though. i'll take a stab with........is it near Grand Forks? |
It's a pretty big mountain to be putting your finger on... but go for it.
|
Im from out West and I don't remember it, but I'm from south-west B.C.
|
Crap, anyone that has driven from Vancouver to Kelowna (or anywhere in the interior for that matter) would have seen this mountain.
I guess I'll post the underside of some obscure bridge next time. |

is that whining i hear? |

i love obscure bridges.
It's not a part of the slide at Hope is it? |
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOORIIIIIIIIIIIIING.
That picture is like me posting this: http://www.ebibleteacher.com/images/...dtbn050701.jpg I demand to be let back in this game; The next guy that posts a fucking statue in Toronto or a picture of a goddamned mountain is getting a size 12 combat boot up their ass. I swear. Oh, and no close-ups of old-assed buildings in Toronto either. Let's face it. No pictures in Toronto. |

U can't do that! C'mmon! we've been tryin hard man, lots of pics from two ends of this country & places inbetween... and from a toronto boy too. So I think we got a stake in this... (i've been holding onto a classic underside of a bridge for a while now) c'm here with those combat boots! I'm bending over now... |
ok splk, if it isn't a field of grain, or the Hope slide, is it the Chief? no, come to think of it, we already had that guess in an earlier pic.
|
Ok, I'll take it you guys are stumped. It's Mt Yak on the Coquihalla summit of hwy 5. Next time you drive to the interior look to your left.
I'll post another one....this is easy, just like the last one. It's sorta like the bottom of an obscure bridge... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v11/splck/hmmmm.jpg |
hmmm don't know that mt Yak...
is that pier at White Rock? |

oh shit... I got it. sorry for the delay, off to find a pic.
here we go. I obviously did not take this picture, although the subject matter is a place where I used to attend high school. (hint, it is not Toronto) http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/260aa142.jpg |
The harbour in Burlington, ON?
|
nope
but it does start with a B.... |
Barrie Ontario
|
game on Tiberius! this is a view of Beautiful, Buxom Barrie's Kempenfelt Bay & Centennial Park and the Marina. My highschool was right downtown there, and that large condo in mid distance is built pretty close to the old tannery. We used to have to shut the windows in math class on really hot days because of the smell from the tannery...

The bridge http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...4/bridge05.jpg Me, walking out THROUGH the bridge, crazy eh. http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...4/bridge01.jpg Me, talking to the surveyor..... http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...4/bridge06.jpg A nice elevation shot http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c5...4/bridge04.jpg Me hiding for obvious reasons |
Give me the name of the town the bridge is in, and the River.
And no, the CN bridge doesn't cut it. |
Is that the CN bridge?
|
By the color of the water I am going to guess that the river is the Thames in London Ontario and the pictures was taken in the springtime.
|
Nope, not London, and it was summer time.
But you are correct about the colour of the water, that is a give away. |
How about Paris (Ontario)?
|
And the river is....
|
Grand River
|
Very good.
I am amazed that that was so easy. |
Once I was on the water color I stayed in the relative area.
There are some realy nice pics of the river on the net taken at different times of day where you don't see the muddy water. I was almost positive it was the thames though. I will have the next one in a minute |
This pic does not do it justice
http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0SADdA...71014294350188 Name of the place and the city please. |
Is that the Kee to Bala? Bala Ontario? You must know Bala. Everyone's been to Bala. Home of the Bala Bay Boatery?

Nope, it is not Kee to Bala or Kee de Bala
not in Ontario |
shoulda kown you wouldn't post an Ontario pic. hmmm
is it near Sicamous? |
I was actually going to post a pic of a bridge in Ontario but I held back.
Nope, quite far from Sicamous (if Sicamous is where I think it is) |
I think we're going to need a bit of help on this one. :D
|
That place looks familar but can't remember where I saw a pic or if I have been near there!
|
Sorry I was not around for the weekend.
OK, some hints: - East - Those doors at water level are for easy removal of certain things - Thoese certain things are then put in the water from those docs that dip down right to water level. - The upper floor which is at street level can be used for parties (e.g. a wedding reception - see pic) http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/3424/example23ca.jpg |

|
|
I will give it to you, but the place is called "Saint Mary's Boat Club" you can see the name of it on that page that you provided.

I have a good one there. give me a few hours to get home and download it. **** several hours later, here is an easy one: http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/5b89e455.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/d06001d8.jpg |
Toronto Harbour?
Or more specifically: One Queens Quay West (at Yonge Street) Toronto M5J 2H1 |
I can vouch for that one Sticky... Game on!
|
I was going to post this but I thoguth that it would be too easy.
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/2550/example25zk.jpg This one may also be as easy http://img321.imageshack.us/img321/7252/example38ou.jpg |
The easy one was the Big Apple on the 401 at Coburg.
The other image... is that the Big O in Montreal (Olympic Stadium)? |

That is the SGI Insurance building.
I KNOW it is in regina. |
Nope! This is not in Regina.
|
As a Regina'ite, i can safely say that its not the SGI building.
|
Okay then, get into the game!
Federated Co-Op? Potash Corp? Wheat Pool? It isn't Sask Power or SaskTel. |
Shit, is that the Saskatchewan Pavilion at Expo 86?
