Linden played an incredible game, and provided the leadership needed. I still truly believe that this is what the team is lacking, a strong standup leader. Lets hope he can keep the ball rolling.

This conference is turning out pretty exciting. Would be GREAT to see Vancouver and Edmonton both get into the playoffs.
Even though he got two points last night I still wasn't impressed with Bertuzzi...

Meh, I can't complain much about that game, it was hard fought from both ends. A few bounces either way for either team and it's a hugely different game.
Morrison doesn't rail it off the crossbar and it's 3-3... empty netter doesn't hit the post (!!!) and it's 4-2. One thing that HAS been consistent for the canucks has been their shitty defense... How many odd man rushes are we going to give up on Auld? The guy wasn't ready to start as it is... but having such an inexperienced defense in front of him must be soooo frustrating. Anyway, good series with the Oilers, we came out on top (4 points to 3) so I'm not unhappy... considering how we've played against them all year.

I love this team, but with my unwavering support I get the right to criticize too! I think you'll see a lot of changes this year, barring an unlikely stanley cup run. Bert and Crawford are gonna be gone, and if I'm not wrong (which I may be) Jovo and the Sedins are all UFA's this season.
Current spector's rumour is Canucks trying for Huet this offseason but I can see that. If I had to guess? Well this is probably more HOPE than guess. Bert, Clouts, Morrison all swapped out for picks, and Nassy/Sedins to carry us through a few years of youth rebuilding. I miss being able to say that we had youth in the system. When was that? Oh yeah, back when I was cheering for edmonton ten years ago :/ Damn I love the Sedins. And now I get to gloat at all the folks who kept telling me they're the worst picks the Canucks ever made.

Ed Jovanavski, in overtime, in his first game back, with the beautiful game winner. If they make the playoffs now you realize theres NO way they're gonna let him go to free agency.

That was an insane game
I won a draw at my pub and got entered into tickets for the April 15 Canucks game. So stoked I don't even know what to think. Even though it's a 1/30 chance I might win, I've never had my name drawn ever, not in allllllll the years I've entered draws, if I win this I may be the happiest Canucks fan ever. [edit] Antikarma: AND HOW!

Not to be a total troll in this thread (which I realize I kind of am so far)
But Flyman, you're right, it isnt over yet... However, too be honest, I just dont see it. the ducks, sharks, sharks, and avs will be very tough. All are still fighting for a spot. SJ has played the least games of all the teams fighting right now, so unless the nucks just sweep those two games against them, im pretty sure they'll be in. The nucks really have to win all of their games, and I really see this coming down to either Van or EDM in. Also anyone else think that millen and Hughson are a little bit of a biased set of announcers? I mean it was all "Vancouver has to do this..." Vancouver that..." I understand that Van does pretty much have to win all of their games to get in, but CAL just secured a playoff spot with that tie, that was only mentioned like once. Jovo did have a good game, but the announcers would have you believe that he was the 3rd coming or something. "all he's missing is the cape" - you got to be kidding me! Anyone remember who was in the box that led to calgarys first goal and comeback? |

There's nothing wrong at all with being a troll, or even as a lot of people would put it, a realist. No one thinks Jovo is Superman, and no one thinks Vancouver is going to race 4 straight wins and then have a Stanley Cup parade down Robson. There's nothing wrong with tempering your excitement with realism, BUT....
Why the heck do we even watch sports, or root for our favorite team? Sports ARE the last great escapism, where we CAN have heroes, where we CAN dream, where we WANT to be as strong or as skilled as the players. If someone wants to cheer for 4 straight wins and a cup run, hell, let em. Secretly I am too. Everyone in this thread KNOWS I love Jovo and I'd rather watch them trade away Bert, Ohlund, Salo, hell anyone than Jovo. And I was fanboying myself when he scored that goal. Do I think he's going to don the cape and lead them to lord Stanley? Newp. But lemme tell you, makes me smile wishin it would happen. On one of your notes though, I don't see it as Van or Edmonton, mainly based on the back to back with San Jose. SJ is two points ahead of the Nucks. Vancouver takes those and one more win and it puts them in eight to finish the season. You know I do have to agree with you on the announcers though man, I feel bad for anyone watching that was a Calgary fan. I'm too lazy to look it up, but wasn't Hughson the radio broadcaster for the Canucks for years? That might explain it if so. Let’s just enjoy the last four games, and start worrying about who's going to stay when it's all said and done! *Edit* my spelling sucks. Thats why I won't post on political threads anymore. Cleaned up enough to understand now though!!
