The Hound Down Under?
Alright you people, Oz better watch cause I'm coming to town ;)
Yes, 4 nights, 4 days of the Hound in Sydney. (Of course a few of those days I have to work, but the rest is mine all mine). Anyone have anything cool to do? EDIT: Oh yeah.. I arrive in Sydney on Monday morning.. Yes, THIS MONDAY morning |
Not a Sydney gal, sorry! But the centre of town is full of places to party, so I'm sure you'll find somewhere!
|
sorry dude im about 24hrs drive north of you... have fun though and make you sure you visit again soon
|
Darn, I would have thought we'd have some Sydney people here
|
I'm ages away, sorry.
Just go to Kings Cross.. you'll do fine. Anyways.. you looking to do touristy stuff? Check out all the classic stuff... if you have time (and money) do a bridge climb. Also, renting a car (if you trust your driving over here) and checking out the Blue Mountains (north of sydney) is cool. The Rocks ('original' Sydney.. built by the prisoners.. stuff like that) is supposed to be nice. I walked around there and just saw a bunch of tourist shops, though :) |
I think Bundy and Cchris are the only Sydney posters on here, and I haven't seen either of those bastards for ages...
|
Bundy moved to Tokyo.. cchris is always busy now

Should only take 2 or 3 hours to see all there is to see in Sydney. A medium sized bridge, a funny looking opera house and... I suppose there are some exciting things to do that are unique to Sydney - if you believe the tourist blurbs - but I can't seem to recall any of them, and I've lived here for 44 years. You could just head off to a pub and pick up a slut, there are plenty of moist vaginas on offer. Just make sure you tell everyone you're from Canada. |
Just tell them you went to a real posh school. Sydney chicks always want to know where you went to school. And lie about your job as well.

If you want good harbour views, it is worth a trip to the cocktail bar at the top of the Shangri La hotel. Lots of people say the bridge climb is pretty cool, though haven't done it yet.
The zoo is pretty good if you are into that kind of thing, and is an easy ferry ride from the city. Beach? Most tourists head for Bondi or Manly. Museums - I personally think the powerhouse museum is pretty cool, though the Australian museum is also quite interesting. You could take a walk through the botanic gardens and sit on Mrs Macquarie's chair, then wander into the nearby art gallery. The Aquarium, Martime Museum, Star City Casino are all walking distance from the city. sorry - riggling child on my lap - will try to add a bit more later... edit - ok child in bed. You might also want to check out centrepoint tower. Food places - King Street Wharf has pretty good eating spots and bars, though it can be a tad pricy (if your work is paying, I say take advantage...). If you are after night life, perhaps you need to ask someone else - I'm a little disconnected from that scene, though Oxford Street and Kings Cross (as Latch mentioned) will usually have some midweek action. You could also visit Luna Park (just across the harbour bridge) link |
Well I spent my first day (not night yet) with a train ride from parramada (where I'm stayin) to north sydney, then made my way back to the circular uay, now I'm listening to a chineese man try to sing simon and garfunkle. Its well worth the pain :). I walked by Luna park and it scared me. I took the obligitory pictures of the opera house (not as nice as I thought it was). I think I'll stay away from the women, I'm behaving now that I have someone :) no foriegn women for me (well except for the one I already have)
Off to find dinner. |
I have heard the ferry ride from Parramatta to the city is pretty good, though have never done it myself.

oh man, i`m sorry. one month ago i`d have been able to help you out a bit more.
but now i live Tokyo so i`m probably just a bit further away from you than high-way... j/k well, sydney is easy. the Rocks, Darling Harbour, Bondi, Manly, Botanical Gardens, Circular Quay, Paddington, Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Taronga Zoo, Manly Ferry, Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley. sorry, wish i had more time to give more detail. will post more when i get the chance. |
