Sydney+Brisbane: JetStar to Geelong - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

So Qantas' budget airline JetStar is using an airport local to here (Geelong) called Avalon. It's closer to Geelong than Melbourne (and Tullamarine, the Melbourne Airport). Anyways, because they're so close.. Geelong council has given them a lot of money and shit, and they're trying to pay us back (or something like that). Point of this little story is, there was an article in the weekly free newspaper today that said that little booklets about Geelong and the Great Ocean Road (and flying JetStar to get to them) were handed out in 40,000 homes in Sydney and 70,000 in Brisbane.

Did any of you Brisbane/Sydney people get 'em? Wouldn't surprise me if they just threw 'em in a tip somewhere hehe.

I'm not in BrisVegas yet, babe, so I can't comment. But I'm not sure I'd fly Jetstar...they sound a bit dodgy.

I would've thought it'd be a bit uncooth to operate an airport without running water. Crazy.

Nah didn't get it here in Brissy. 70 000 though. theres a lot more households then that.

perhaps it has the deputy mayor's bitch about how she was locked out of a jetstar flight because she dawdled in the car park... did you see that Latch?

i love it - afaik, she was all for jetstar. she fucks up - then bitches about the company in the local rag that she'd previously been rooting for.

haha didn't catch that. It's good to see that people aren't going to change the world because she is an idiot hehe.

Not that I have anything against her.. but it sounds like she's one of those stuck-up "I'm so important" people.

i think i've got the article somewhere.. i'll try and dig it up. basically it spells out in black and white..

'hey, i'm so important that i'll drag my ass slowly to the terminal and be late because the plane should wait for me because as DEPUTY MAYOR (yeah, thats right bitches), i'm more important than anyone else!'
