I feel really bad for her. She had so much pressure on her. During the entire olympics when Canada was struggeling through alot of events, it was always Perdita who the commentators would say was our sure gold. It was her race to lose and she lost it. I know it from the bottom of my heart that if she would not have fell, she would have won. I hope she knows we feel bad for her and understand.

son of a whore

that is all

We're having such bad luck..
First, our rowers get DQed for coming into contact w/ the South Africans, then French-judging makes its infamous return in the form of Romanian bias, now this.

Blah.

Poor thing, she must feel terrible. At first look i thought someone made her trip.too bad all that trainning. Now she must wait an other 4 years.

uhh hello people? she also took out another runner! at least she did some good from that incident :P

kulrblind 08-26-2004 04:08 AM

Well, the other runner was technically "behind" her, so it's not like said runner had much of a chance for a medal :)

Anyway, here's hoping for the canoe-and-kayakers today!

Lost gold medal or not, Perdita has been Canada's defining moment IMHO these olympics. Much like Daniel Igali in Sydney. What a class act.

It's unfortunate what happened but now I am growing tired of hearing about. It's over. Move on. She isn't the only athelete Canada sent to the Olympics. The same day Canada won a medal in cycling but you wouldn't have known it. I feel bad for the 38 or 39 year old who wins gold and no one pays attention. Nothing like dwelling on our failures rather than celebrating our successes.

bad luck too

We can only hope our rowing teams, our hurdler and remaining divers can pull something out- so that Canada can strive above this 1 bronze medal bullshit.

everything you say i agree with but i have to say that that we as a country have suffered the most horrific bad luck of pretty well any country at the olympics. felecien tripping, the rowers wandering into another lane, despatie flopping, the mens eights, the gymnastics debacle.i mean what's next ,locusts
