...WONKY
WONKY. What the bejesus does this word mean? I'll admit myself to using it occasionally for various reasons but does it have ANY real actual definition whatsoever? If so, where did it come from? I searched the board for it and I still in context can't quite pin it down:

AM I GOING INSANE!?!?!??! |
Wow, nice, I have never used the word or heard it before, but I immediately knew what it meant...
if you are going insane, I am comming with you... that's just wonky... maybe it's: "Funky" + "Wrong" = Wonky??? |
Wonky:weird, whacked out, messed up, not working for no definable reason. Usually applied to technology.
"Dude, you have the wonkiest computer in the world. I walked through the room and it crashed." |
It's like being drunk and trying to walk around.
No wait,that's having a wobbly boot. |

Situation Normal All Fucked Up Wonky is something a little off, or wrong. Like it was said in the previous posts. |
from Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary:
Main Entry: won·ky Pronunciation: 'wä[ng]-kE Function: adjective Etymology: probably alteration of English dialect wankle, from Middle English wankel, from Old English wancol; akin to Old High German wankOn to totter -- more at WENCH 1 British : UNSTEADY, SHAKY 2 British : AWRY, WRONG |
I think of "wonky" as "out of balance", as in if you started to spin a wonky wheel, it would vibrate rather than spin smoothly. Not entirely broken, but not entirely right either.
That first post cracked me up, especially to find myself quoted. |
... akin to Old High German wankOn.
Wank On, you wonky wanker... |
It's actually a term the Uumpas have when Willy is a bit tanked and beligerant... "Oh shit fellas, Willy is Wonky again!"
