The multi-billion dollar company SK Telecom in South Korea is now the new sponsor and manager of Boxer's team 4U. Approximately seven million US dollars are being invested in this operation

Since Boxer's (picture) team changed name from Orion to 4U, they were without a sponsor for quite some time. Now, the largest telecommunications company in Korea, named SK Telecom, is taking over and sponsoring this team. Being a giant company like SKT, they have a lot of money to spend, hence Boxer's new contract - the richest contract in pro gaming history ever. I don't know the exact number, but it's more than Nal_rA's recent contract of $200,000 for joining KTF. Apart from Boxer's salary, the team 4U will get a new team office/dormitory which is bigger than 3550 sq. They will also get a team van, with 12 seats. The van is a Chevrolet Starcraft, amusing, no?

KTF is the second largest telecommunications company after SK Telecom, and was accused of, as mensrea at Team Liquid called it: creating a pro gaming version of Real Madrid. To put it shortly, Real Madrid is a team who invests in star players worth millions and millions of dollars; buying a team. To quote mensrea once again: every Real Madrid deserves a Manchester United, and if anyone can outspend KTF, it's SKT.

mensrea also tells that some analysts predict it won't be long until the third largest telecommunications company in Korea, LG Telecom, will start a pro gaming team as well. Since a lot of young people under 25 go to see these television programs and even at the live events, it will make great commercial and financing for the companies. Especially since the telecommunication market is in these people's interests.
