Picture an empty wine bottle with the cork secured at the top in typical fashion. From the cork, by a piece of monofilament a metal ring is suspended.

Without touching the bottle, cork, ring, or filament, how can you cause the ring to fall to the bottom of the bottle?

Heat the bottle to expand the neck. That's if the ring is outside the bottle.

Inside the bottle? Use a magnifying glass and burn through the filament.

Use an enormous magnet (like the ones found in MRI scanners)?

Have someone else pick up the bottle and smash it.
