i never saw what made someone with their face covered in what might as well be a mask so damn pretty to begin with.
heavy make-up is not just "trashy" looking, but sometimes it can be downright disturbing to see just how much some people (apparently) hate their actual appearance.

There is something to be said for camera angles and lighting too.

I think lighting, camera angles, and AIR BRUSHING are the key items that make most female celebrities so damn hot in magazines and on television. An ex's dad is a hollywood producer who got us into some parties and events with big name people all around. It looks just like any other group of people in an upper class bar or club.

I still think she's beautiful. Even in this thread, where she looks like she's in her first trimester, I find her extremely attractive. About the only pictures I've seen were she's unattractive is the cranked-up Dee Snider photos:

err... maybe it's just me, but she barely even looks human in those last two pics... that last one especialy, she looks more like a female alien from Star Trek TOS

edit: actually, those female alien characters were usually more attractive...

I dunno, Mikey, I really don't think that that pic is so bad... that actually kind of looks like my fiancee, just my fiancee has black hair (and a much better complexion, and nicer teeth, and a... different nose)

With regards to the original pic, without the makeup, I think she looks kinda sweet. I'd take her for a rootbeer float or something. Maybe a little bowling...

hey, i didn't make fun of that one, she doesn't look all that bad in it, she just looks like a regular person, probably just a bit tired and maybe caught at an odd moment... i think that's the problem - everybody's trained to expect some super-human stylized version of beauty because that's what the media shows us all the time, even though real people that we see everyday rarely(if ever) look that way. it was the "made up" pictures that i was making fun of

I've said it before and I'll say it again - all these "look how bad they look without make-up!" pics are taken at their worst moments. On that site, Yasmine Bleeth's is from a mug shot - something about spousal abuse or something IIRC, Christina Applegate is of her while excersizing (running to be exact), and Alicia's, well, I mean, I don't know how much more obvious you could get that it's just a bad picture.

Take into account the nature of their celebrity - that the only time they're going to be seen, or for that matter, simply BE without makeup is when they're tired, going through tough personal issues, whatever. It's interesting to see, but realize that these are the WORST of the no makeup pictures they could get, not the best.

I agree with GreenCloud. To me, the more makeup a person has on the less attractive they are. My least favorite is the most all-encompasing - base/foundation. Covers the entire face...now why would I want to kiss someones face if I'm not really kissing their skin but really kissing some whale fat they spread on their face? (I know I know, it's not all made of whale fat, but that's not the point)

acutally, i think she looks nice, compare to those other monsters like yasmin bleeth or christina applegate.

Either she wears too much freakin' makeup, or she gets caught without none. It's funny how when you get the "makeup level" just right, she's fairly decent looking...

I agree with SM70... they're all just really bad pictures (except for that J-Lo one... ugh). They're not automatically ugly just because bad pictures of them exist.

Actually the Yasmine Bleeth pic was also taken during her times of very heavy drug use(the hard kind). It isn't the makeup...she's never gonna look the same again.
