TH, all your fishy stuff is making me really want to crank up my tanks again. I still have a 29 gal and 55 gal running but kind of in a holding pattern until I make my next move, hoping to do a reef tank closer to 100 gal or whatever good tanks proportions are for a reef setup in that size. Are the P. scalare mouthbrooders? ...I can tell you that if my kids were hiding in my mouth, I think I'd end up eating them.

// Nick, Angels aren't mouthbrooders. They lay their eggs on vertical stones or leaves and then herd the fry. It would suck to be a mouthbrooder, I think. Apparently, though, humans are wallet brooders. At least, whenever my kids feel threatened they dive into my wallet.

...since I didn't know, I googled and verified that Pterophyllum scalare are angelfish; but I did already know that angelfish are not mouth brooders. I've had angelfish lay eggs in my tank, but never succeeded in getting hatchlings. No angelfish currently to try again.

ps: this term reminds me of when I was about 10yo and discovered my dad's collection of Sexology magazines, which had the requisite nude pics of women I was attracted to, but it also had quite a bit of more "scientific" angle on sex and related culture...where I first heard about Hottentot Apron and saw those pics so indelibly etched into my psyche.
Another cool one, though I don't know any special terms for it, is when they elongate one of the mother's breasts so she can breast feed the baby on her back by throwing her breast over her shoulders, and continue doing her work at the same time.

Jeberti

(also spelled Jabarti, Jaberti, Jebarti) are a Tigrinya- and Arabic-speaking indigenous group mostly found in Eritrea with a wider diaspora community in neighboring countries, primarily in the Arabian Peninsula. There are also small numbers of Jeberti living in Ethiopia. Due to historic persecution, the Jebertis are attempting to achieve equitable recognition as an ethnic group in both Eritrea and Ethiopia. The Jebertis in neighboring countries, facilitated by their shared religion, have been largely assimilated into their respective countries and cultures.

Marmon

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g2.../waspmodel.jpg

The Marmon Wasp won the first Indianapolis 500 Race in 1911 with Ray Harroun as the driver who accomplished this feat. It was widely speculated he won because of the weight of his car. At that time all race cars held two men, a driver and a mechanic. Harroun's racer was built for only one man, the driver, so that not only streamlined the car but also reduced the weight by one person. He also devised the first rear view mirror ever used on a race car (or a passenger car as well). This combination enabled him to win the race with an average speed of 74.602 MPH. Harroun was an Indiana native and still holds an Indy 500 record. No one has ever come from the 28th (or worse) starting position and end up winning the race.

Many do not realize that the Marmon automobile was built in Indianapolis. Between the years of 1903 and 1933 Marmon Motor Cars (previously Nordyke and Marmon), made approximately 250,000 cars...fewer than approximately 350 exist today.
