Okay,someone_ explain_this_one_to_me. I_went_ to_bed_ last_night_and_ I_ had_a_space_bar. Then_when_I_woke _up_today_it_ was_just_missing. I_have_looked_ all_around _were_the keyboard _ is_at _and_still_ can_not _find_it. Spacebar_gnomes_anyone?

I once had a problem with my laptop keyboard where the "i" key stopped working. You can't get very far without an "i".

It turns out that when a key no longer workes on a laptop, they have to change the whole keyboard. I am glad that I still had a warranty.

Sometimes if you spill water on your board, you'll lose a row of keys. I've done this a few times.

Is it totally gone as in the space where your space bar was is now empty? Or it just doesn't work?

No_see_you_are_misunderstanding. The_space_bar_is_ GONE_Like_there_is_no_key_there .The_button_still_works_so_if_stick_something_down_there_I_ get_a_space. That_is_ to_ anoying_ to_do_for_every_ space_though

I've done it twice... the second time I swallowed my scanner.

hehe.. thats pretty funny... go to a campus computer and steal on of their space bars :).... They get the cheap keyboard, so they won't be missing much :).. hehehe
Yeah i haven't heard of that happening before, thats weird.. Got a cat? I know my friend's cat would get jealous everytime he was on the computer, so she would sit on his mouse or keyboard so he was forced to pet her.. so she could get her attention :) Saying that, perhaps it ripped it out.

Worde of advice, like you said with water... well never let pop fall down in your keyboard, the acid in pop will slowly, but surely, eat through the wires until you keyboard is no longer effective.

You probably have an old keyboard lying around somewhere with a spacebar... just take that off and put it on the current one. If not, remove a key that you never use and put it on the spacebar button (I recommend Scroll Lock or F12)

The keyboard I had before this one lost the right shift key. I still used it for 2 years after I lost that key.

To this day, I almost never use the right shift key (out of habit), but I'm kind of trying to relearn it. Still have mad typing speed, nonetheless.

Keyboards die easily. The best strategy is to replace.

I've had my laptop keyboard replace 3 times because the CTRL + ALT + DELETE keys didn't work, try getting into a machine running Win2k with those keys not working.
