The sound from the original Doom game that the end level (boss?) makes when the little cubes come flying out. If you've played the game you know what I mean. That has to be one of the most widely used sfx ever. If you ever see fire in a movie it usually has this sound associated with it. I don't know why.

I was in somebody's house recently when they were not home
and they had a GONG! I wore that thing out...hope they didn't have a nanny cam on me. That was cool, but would be embarrassing if caught on tape. I actually recorded it on my trusty "fart corder" but it doesn't do it justice. Yeah, a GONG! |

You know the generic scream they use when someone falls of a bridge or something. Its always the exact same scream. If I'm not mistaken they used it in AHH!!! real monsters cartoon... That has to be my favorite just because it's so generic.

In the movie Dogma the first scene with Azrael, when he kills the woman who owns the house with central air.
The sound it makes when she opens the door to him standing there with a smile. That sound effect is my favorite sound :D |
I'm not sure what my favorite is but the most disturbing is a "Fap fap fap" when it's not coming from you...

BOING! is easily the best sound effect.
WHAP! is pretty good too. I am also VERY partial to the sound a spurt of jizz makes when it lands on my wife's face. |
My favorite sound effect is the one that is commonly used in Asian cinema when sharp steel meets flesh. It's a piercing sound that just seems to effectively capture the pain from such a wound.

And the hitting-a-high-tension-wire-or-my-garage-door blaster sound from Star Wars. *goes down to hit garage door* "Chewie, we're going to have company!!" |

I can't decide if it's the sound you hear from my photon torpedoes hitting your ship's hull, or if it's the sound I hear of my phaser rifle on vaporize when I'm shooting you in ground combat...:lol:
